is it a motorized dish? It needs absolutely perfect adjustment in your location.
    Please push thanks.

My STB show a lower level signal for DVB-S2 transponders compared to DVB-S ones. Obviously I'm comparing transponders located on the same beam on Hot Bird. In any case I never experienced problems with rain.

All you need is to adjust a dish.
You cant have problem with Hotbird in Central Europe, no matter of rain. Hotbird have very powerfull beams...

Sorry, but I have sometimes problems with rain.
Depending on heavy rain, every signal can be blocked/influenced by the weather.

My opinion, there is still more perfect and sensitive tuners require to tackle these problems

Totally agree with you Satphoenix, heavy rain can wipe out even the best reception, admittedly only for short periods but I have on occasions lost signal on 28E with levels over 90% for both S&Q.If it is an DVBS-2 signal on 13E then the problem can be a lot more severe lasting for much longer periods, due to the less robust signal.

What you say about rain is true, it's Physics.
At those frequencies it's the same thing that smaller water drops in fog cause to the sight...
When there are heavy rains on Milan even SKY IT uplinks themselves, with their giant dishes, for some minutes are not able to reach Hotbird with their transmissions...

Yes with realy heavy rain. What happend 1-2 a year.
And it depend on size of dish.
If you have 80-90cm dish in central EU then you can expect lost of signal maybe 2 times a year, and it will last maybe for 15min.
So it isnt much of a problem.

To be honest, on HB channels, including HD, I never had problems you are reporting, even with eavy rain! In these wheather condition, the only thing that happen is some occasional image freeze that have a duration less than 1 second. This for me happen both on SD and HD channels.

In really heavy rain you can have a 3m Dish and it won't help. Too much water above you.
The rules of physics make no exception. There's of course no difference between dvb-s and dvb-s2.
A bigger dish can only help if you have lower rain.

I assembled multifeed on four satellites (5e, 13e, 19e, 36e), 13th in focus and always experience a problem with signals in heavy rain on all satellites. the laws of physics

I said that it can happend that you lose signal in havy rain, but that havy rain happend only few time of the year.

I have Total TV legaly and their dish is 90cm with monoblock 16E 19E.
On 16E I lose signal on havy rain maybe 5-10 times a year, because 16E is very weak sattelite, but on 19E I lose signal 1-2 times a year.

You obviusly dont know how blob of rain effect on signal, so you allways say physics.
It effect signal, but not that much how all of you whant to say. and only realy havy rain can block signal from strong sattelite if you have 80+ cm dish.

If that is true then in areas close to ecvator you wouldnt evan have sattelite dishs, because there is havy rain every day....

Have an interesting reading about effects of rain on microwaves in equatorial countries...

I dont know what you mean with "heavy rain"...peraphs a typhoon or a tornado? I repeat, also when it raining in heavy mode, I never had the "no signal" on the screen. At most I have some image freezes.

The only thing that cause "no signal" appears on my screen is snow...when it snows for some hours, no chance to view anything...

That is exactly what I mean. It must be almost typhoon to lose signal from that powerfull sattelite.

No matter what modulation it is....
