    protek9720 not holding sat s

    my friend has a protek 9720 and every time he switches it off he loses all his sats he has a motor on a 90cm dish.when i put it on my dish i have to reprogram it then its fine on my dish,soon as he connects to his dish he loses everything and i have to reprogram ,any ideas.i myself think its his motor.

    Is he using USALS to find the sats? it sounds like he may not have his Long & Lat set correctly. I am not familiar with the receiver but If he has set it up correctly then I can only think that the Database may be corrupt. More info needed.

      as @Mobley3 said: usals can cause problems, if you didn't done this already: try with diseqc 1.2 'and store all sats manually). Is it ok when you try your protek on his motor? if not: most probably motor problem.

        dont fancy trying my reciever on his motor .might lose everything like his ,going to take his motor off and try the double lnb thanks,

          hi dawbrain

          no risk losing anything, just make a copy of your channellist (export to usb), and perhaps make sure you have a copy of the B*r*s-soft (you can also import this by usb). Just change the settings to motor/none - if you use more than 1 lnb: you should enter the 2 (or more) sats - up to 4 in the protek.
