have just ordered one of these boxes .will it come with latest firmware ,if not where can i get it thanks.

Only your salesman can know what fw wersion is in it. This informations should be available when you are buying, so ask him, or just wait and see for yourself.

openbox 6000hd is a clone of Vu+Solo just like Skybox Mini Solo, Cloud Ibox, etc.
So look for vu+ solo images in Vu+ section

I have a cloud ibox which is the same box but different name m8. You can get images and the like from the obvious place openbox forum although for me the openvix image is the best and the forum has everything you need. There are others out there black hole is another but it does not support softcam so you cant get your cccam.cfg file to work.

Once you get the box then you can play around with the different images, that's
the beauty of a enigma box but i am sure you will find lots of people on this
forum help you sort out any problems you have.

little tip: before you start experimenting, try to take back-ups of all your settings and channellist - one never knows what can go wrong

I HIGHLY suggest for you to backup the initial image that came with the box before you play around with enimga images, i have a clone box and had to ask the retailer for a clone-safe image and it took ages, so just backup before you flash a new/different image.

Do they need patched images (like DM) ?
Are they worth ?

Any E2 image for vu+ solo works by all account it does run hot but not heard anything
about this causing a problem, some sellers are selling with a fan included now.

Half of price is the main difference.
Cheaper elements, and lack of some components, like CVBS or Component output (cinch), depends on version.
Long term stability is hard to determine.

No need, VU+ aren't secured in that mater, so no extra sim and no clone detection, no patches etc. Images simply work's

Matter of indivudual opinion.

My opinion is this, that for the people who were buying openbox/skybox who are new to the
sat scene this would be a ideal box because if the rumours about sly going dark become a
reality then you still end up with a good ip streaming box for a few more pounds and not
just a door stop.

I always recommend against buying clones as I have been burned in the past..
Quality, components used, safety standards, guarantee, etc.
Stick a motor on your dish and your screen won't go black anytime soon.

sorry to disagree with you here, mate - but: if you can't get your mvision 270 to work with a cline, means your cline isn't good - this will be the same on this box, nothing will open ... - so: no good cline, nothing scrambled will open ...

why not take good member pan1100 advice, try a good cline in your mvision, and perhaps you could be surprised, i myself only use client box.
1 good line is all you need.
