                satellite operator SES activate transponders a new telecommunications satellite ASTRA 2E (28,2 ° E). he took some of the transponders of the satellite ASTRA 2A. thereby changed the degree of coverage in different parts of europe.

                  not more time to do more tests, but here all still seems coming in fine (some signals good, some about 50-55% but open) - region: belgian coast (so near uk)

                      a comment from the popular "olive press" ex-pats magazine.
                      ----------------------------------------------------------

                      AT half past four this morning, many British expats in southern Spain finally lost all BBC channels.

                      The BBC’s switch to a different satellite has been a hot topic of discussion in Southern Spain.

                      The new Astra 2E satellite will improve reception in the UK but, as shown in the map, its coverage doesn’t quite extend to the Costa del Sol.

                      The remaining channels are likely to be migrated to the UK spot beam tonight including all free channels from ITV and Channel 4.

                      Areas which have seen complete loss of BBC channels are Costa Del Sol, Andalucia, Gibraltar, Southern Portugal, much of Catalunya, the Canary Islands and also Italy.

                      Once migration is completed, satellite operator SES Astra is likely to make adjustments which could alter the quality of reception once more.

                      Olive Press readers have been getting in touch to express their disappointment at having lost all BBC TV and radio channels.
                      ==============================================
                      also here is info on new spot beam 2e (with perhaps more adjustments on beam to come.)

                      lets also not forget,
                      the new 28e, 2G satellite is launched, and in-service about July 2014. Maybe earlier.

                        Re: Astra 2e

                        Is BBC One Wales still on Astra 1N and still receivable today (I'm not at home so I can't check)? The hotel I stay at in the Canary Islands always used this as their BBC channel on the room tv service.
