This satellite has certainly been about, in all it's guises.

      Re: Astra 2e

Astra 1n looks likely to move on midweek so all transponders should be off by then.
Then we may know the true final picture, there is a possibility that there could be slight movements of the 2e sats so therefore a slight change in footprint, for example 2e is at approx. 28.35 at the moment not 28.2 so it may move when 1n is gone.

Plus don't forget 2g is due to launch soon, it will be at28.2 east but we don't know what it will be used for. so its not all over yet.
      Regards nml

        Re: Astra 2e

At what exact position is Astra 2E and where are most of the channels from old positions?
I don't get anything. Complete loss of signal?
Serbia, Bosnia and Croatia users could report back?
        cheers

The BBC has announced that it will be moving all its channels to the Astra 2F and Astra 2E satellites.
This is the projected Astra 2E footprint showing a beam that is tightly focused on the UK. There will be splillover into mainland Europe, but the cut off towards southern Europe will be much closer to the UK than before.

It is estimated that in the Benelux for instance, a 75-90cm dish will be required compared to as small as a current 45cm.
The quicker "drop off" point for signal is evident

In the south of Europe everything has become complicated.

                    Re: Astra 2e

Nothing happening at the moment, we all know what we have lost.
The next point of interest will be about May June when 2g comes in to the frame and the final moves will take place, should be interesting.

And we lost all the channels, there's no way I can reach any signal on that position!

                          Re: Astra 2e

I have given up on the idea of a larger dish, way to expensive. I will wait and see if when 2g is launched and the sats move to there final position what I need to do.
Still, nobody knows for certain so best not to waste money.

For southern people the new solution maybe is the IPTV.

Ppl, Netflix, Hulu and Crackle are a way to go...
Of course with some yearly HideMyAss sub.
Quite good material there on Pronto Florida Free VPN's!

I even get to see new Sons of Anarchy series on FX central.
