It sounds like your tv is not good enough to receive pictures in the high definition band it it like trying to get hd sat on a sd sat box so is not interlacing propely and you get noise bars.

Ntsc60 means other picture frequence, but lower picture resolution - loss of picture quality - not to recommend on "normal" not-ntsc tvs!
      Thanks.
Do you know how the 576p relates to the 625 lines of pal system?

        Re: DM 800HD se clone

Older system, but the missing 49 lines or better the time for not-displaying them was used to transmit the videotext and further picture setting signals for the older video-recorders. The "analogue macro-vision-protection-system" used this time to send disturbing signals to the recorders to avoid recording the analogue signal. Older video tapes, dvd-players and some sat receivers do the same.
        But I think the dreambox doesn't have a macrovision-chip.
But e.g. the german DBOX2 has this and enables it in ppv-films to avoid an analogue copy of these (mostly new) films.

          Thanks for the clear explanation.

I am trying to play with the skin font sizes.
I had changed scale from 100 to 170.
I noticed that some values reduce the flicker or sometimes remove it.

Is it better to install the HDD inside or outside the box?
Will installing it inside cause too much heating?

i would set up the outside of the box, the fewer problems with cooling hdd, but with the aesthetic point of view it is better to install the hdd into the housing of the box, but there may be a problem to install additional cooler

If you have the place inside, normaly the hdd-heating is not the problem, perhaps the heating of the box itself (a bit).

Maybe a bit old fashioned, but I'd put it outside, connected with usb - always handy when you need it elsewhere or want to do other things with it. If you don't need it on another place or for something else, best to build it in (and check now and then for heating).

Intern HDD: better optic - but complicated to handle the recorded datas.

Extern HDD: better to handle, but a hdd beside the receiver...

                      Re: DM 800HD se clone

I would installing it inside the box to avoid some problems with the connection.
As about the heating, I think that you will not have any problem, but in order to be sure you can install one more fan over the box.
Also you have to be careful where you put the box to ensure the proper airflow.

Thank you all for your help. I see installing inside is the better option. I think it is also better to keep it safe and prevent it from being disconnected by accident.

Why complicated to handle recorded data?
You can copy any recorded data to pc via ftp.

                          Re: DM 800HD se clone

When I change the positioner to another sat and them zap to a channel on that sat, the signal level remains 0% for about 5 seconds, and then the channel displays.
                          Is this normal?
