i was doing some research on card sharing and wanted to know if any of you guys get lag during card sharing, even with a premium server i would think its only as good as your isp? what do you think will dsl be fast enough to ensure no lag?

Re: cardsharing lag?
All depends on the isp provider you are and of course the quality of the premium server.
The speed of your connection is not only the main factor that can allow or not a succesfull card sh@ring.
The ping time is a very important factor as whell as the package you want to watch. There are packages that can work easily on cs and some difficult packages. If You Like My Post..... Please Press the Thanks Button -
Re: cardsharing lag?
The main problem is the server and it's (too heavy) usage.
If the server is overloaded by to many ecm-requests from different users at the same time, the answering-times can rise to more than a second and some providers get glitches and short freezes.
Normaly your dsl-internet provider is not the problem. If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans!Comment

Re: cardsharing lag?
ok cool thanks for posting just out of curiosity if its one master account that is updating the "lechers" wouldn't it be easier to just multicast the signal? wouldn't that bring the bandwidth down tremendously? how would you rate satlover's premium server? im new to this and don't mind shelling out the dough but it has to work reliablyComment

Re: cardsharing lag?
cs needs instead really little band, only speed.
Anyway, I was making some search for you, cause there was a lot of discussions about those things, you can try with "ping", here is something:

Re: cardsharing lag?
But what you call "multicast" indirectly exists, because some servers keep the decrypted-cw in ram to give a faster answer (e.g. newcamd).
About satlovers premium server I always heard positive reactions. If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans!Comment

Re: cardsharing lag?
ok bear with me im new to this but do have a background in networking what i meant by multicast was instead of "leacher" receivers asking for a new "password"/encryption key every 2-5 seconds the server would just send out the new "password/key" every 2 seconds but it would send it out to everyone at the same time. i guess that would only work if the key was the same to all subscribers, looks like i got some reading to doComment

Re: cardsharing lag?
The server receives your ecm-request and sends it to a connected card. This card gives the answer to this request (decrypted cw) and this answer is sent back to your receiver which decrypts the audio-/videostream with this cw (in the csa-algo).
Sometimes:
Your ecm-request is just answered (e.g. half a second before) by another server-user (who watches the same channel ) and the server has kept the answer in ram. Now no new card-answer is necessary and you receiver gets the already decrypted cw. This often happens while football-matches...If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans!Comment

Re: cardsharing lag?
They continously (like icekillah suggested) used to send to people connected the changing CW of one channel (I remember novacinema 1 and Dorcel TV)
Client was implemented in vplug: if you had a card like Skystar you could use it directly, or you could instead interface decoder to your pc...stone age...
EDIT:
It was called DCW s*aring:
Take a look at this link still active, even download is active and you can see config file:

Re: cardsharing lag?
Actually i had the same issue but, because of the fact that many people are using this it will be laggy sometimes, you can get around this by editing your prio file and so on, but that solves just a bit.If you think my post was helpfull for you, i would be glad if you click the thanks button.
