Maybe kostis, the TP-LINK TL-MR3020 is only around £25 to £30 though.

I've just read user's guide ... very versatile and useful piece of hardware, I must say.
It can also be reused for many other purposes (not only 3G router).

Yeah, fair enough, but what do you end up with? A second hand, unfamiliar box that you have to learn how to use again, whilst the old one gathers dust.

I'd rather a new, versatile piece of hardware that means I can keep my familiar box, but that also works to diversify my internet capabilities with other internet reliant hardware.

All a matter of choice and opinions I suppose?

                Re: ethernet from a dongle

I had a very similiar problem to deal with recently and the solution was using an ethernet from a dongle.

One of the very best ones I can recommend is from Apple. You can take it and apply it to any connection you like.

This is high quality equipment and it is so simple to use once set up. You just plug in the wifi adapter into your socket and it picks up your router. There is a small ethernet cable coming out of it which you plug into the back of your box and you are finished!

Apple device are hight quality but more expensive.
depends on the type of use, if used for a while, I think I better save. comuque is one more solution that can be considered.

                    Re: ethernet from a dongle

Ok i have been through all this tested various devices, the solution that works good for me is a tenda 3G611R 3G router ,plug the dongle into the Tenda hook your box up to the tenda via ethernet cable and watch tv ,if your in a 3G area .
                    Tenda about £18 .
Using the huawei 3g router was shit due to the wifi connection to the box ,ecm's are high on 3G especially at peak times and if you use wifi also it did work but much more glitchy.
                    My previous post

Been there done it and wearing the T-shirt ,Tenda can work straight from 12volts so handy for caravans and campers ,i just sit mine against the camper window ,away from highly populated area's we seem to get better ecm times ,there are also various 3g antenna boosters for better reception ,i even see a small dish that you plug the dongle right into the center bit of the dish where the focus is ,then you point it to draw in weak 3g signals if in a remote area.
A big dish and a little dish that might be a step to far.
