    Re: Jamming on HotBird

Jamming is very difficult to stop or to disturb. They use same frequences so that the only way is to change your own frequence (difficult with sat) or you have to stop the jamming source.

practically it can be stopped an turned back on by a decision of the attacker(s) themselves

ERT world is being affected regularly by this attack. Does anyone have any information regarding when it will stop or when someone will be able to stop it?

Hum, i didn't think about check BER , i will check it on the transponders.
Even if there's Errors the signal can be read and still ok, i have that on some Astra 28.2 channels with a 60cm dish
    For Hot Bird , i have a 95Cm dish with a 1.0 LNB.
About the location , just near Paris.

True, regular people in France use Astra and A.Bird 5W, but there's also a lot of people who have interest on Hot Bird for see foreign tv's , or some ***

Maybe it affect more the people who got lower EIRP and less who is in the center of the EIRP.
Not so true, because the problem is also in errors (BER, MER) and then...I don't know where exactly you are, but I'm in Northern Italy and perhaps more in the center than you (and got a medium dish)...
And also in France are more used Astra and Eutelsat 5°W (former Atlantic Bird), that don't have problems.

That is certainly the case for me, when they are playing games my signal on the affected transponders is almost halved, quality especially goes down from 92% to around 52%.

Eutelsat is reporting for it self and its service, but if wee see it in a politically view... yes there is possibility that they disturb 42° East to.

Ohh, ok, I failed to see. Ash over my head!

"European satellite operator Eutelsat said earlier this week that the "deliberate and intermittent interference" originated in Syria."

Is it possible that the even disturb 42° East (Turksat)?

    Are you jockin' ?
Or don't you read any other forum? (sorry Mr. Satlover, but I do ).
In Italy they don't talk about anything but this...

    Also gut!
Since you are from Germany, you can read it on Deutsche Welle, here the international version:
    _http://www.dw.de/dw-protests-jamming-of-broadcasts/a-16318010
    _http://www.dw.de/jamming-interrupts-western-broadcasters/a-16317555

Anyway, I noticed that you all think to a country, that I think is not guilty...
You have to think to a big news and propaganda channel, that was banned from Hotbird in last weeks...
