Re: Differences DVB-T to DVB-S
OK, I've understand now much better. Both MPEG-4, but different RF modulation. Anyway, the most number of HD channels are suitable (by now) for old USB stick DVB-T tuners.
Thanks so much and best regards.

Re: Differences DVB-T to DVB-S
Sorry, I should be more precise:
MPEG4 HD both in Dvb-T and T2, but in T2 changes modulation standard: it's the same standard used by second generation of digital satellites (DVB-S2)(8psk).
That's why even if you have correct codecs (the same of DVB-T, H-264) old receivers won't work, because it's different the RF hardware to use.Leave a comment:

Re: Differences DVB-T to DVB-S
Every receiver (card, USB) for pc is able to receive normal HD programs, for example RAI HD in Italy or TF1, France2...HD in France.
The hardware is the same, only you have to use on your pc software and codec (video H-264) that fit HD broadcast.
Even my Technotrend USB receiver (about 5 years old, or even older, I don't remember...) is OK.
You can't receive HD broadcast in DVB-T2 (in Italy Europa 7, in Germany experimental), but there are the newest USB receiver for DVB-T2.
It's similar to satellite channels of Swiss TV on Hotbird: italian and french HD are DVB-S, SF (deutsch) is HD, but DVB-S2.
Thanks and best regards.Leave a comment:

Re: Differences DVB-T to DVB-S
The strange thing is that it doesn't scan HD freeview channels in the UK. Tested in a few regions in the UK and all SD channels are scanned but no HD. I use Windows Media Centre on Windows 7.Leave a comment:

Re: Differences DVB-T to DVB-S
The one i have is a Hauppage DVB-T Nova T. It doesn't overheat. Its the only main TV source i have in France. I watch all the morning music on it. I bought it in 2007 when HD TV was not as popular. It never scanned HD channels before. I did a scan in end of July and no HD channles. Then Beginning of September and about 4 HD channels. Don't know how..
So as I told you the most of market usb sticks are HD compatible.
Enjoy it.

Re: Differences DVB-T to DVB-S
I don't know If I should ask this question here but it is related to DVB-T
I have a USB DVB-T stick and I use it to Watch French freeview on my laptop when I am in France. In september I noticed that is scanned some HD channels too and I was getting like M6 HD and some other ones. My Stick is is not HD. Why I was getting HD channels? Is it capable to Scan and receive HD channels?
The old USB sticks, don't talk about it at their handbooks, but in my experience they are capable to receive HD DVB-T channels.
I have had Intuix and Hauppage sticks DVB-T receivers and I was be able to watch HD tv. But it broke down quickly, perhaps by overheating. I don't know why, but this is the real truth.

Really there is a mistake: language of TV Koper Capodistria is italian: that's an historical out of borders broadcaster, very popular in Italy in 70s and 80s, the channel and the location of transmitters belonged to that station (channel 27).
Other data about it:

What bitrate do they use in mp2, 128kbit or 192kbit or something different? I think they used joint stereo!?Leave a comment:

Re: Differences DVB-T to DVB-S
And I don't know any provider who uses ac3 in normal dvb-t. Perhaps somewhere else?
But you are right: same codec, same bitrates - same result!Leave a comment:
