    hmmm

this is a confirmation as what's said previously ; options are:
    - put the loopt through in your other box (if it has this function ...)
    - really switching the dbox2 off (maybe even unplugging the electrical socket) - maybe handy to put a switch there

The loopthrough function works different in different receivers. When I use the loopthrough in my Humax5400 - no Problems at all.
Yesterday I changed (for testing) the humax with my DBox2 - much problems. I watched "Sport1" on 12480v, 19,2° - many freezes on my second receiver (Skymaster DXH80, the DBox2 was in deep standby). Only if I switch the DBox2 to the same parameters the other Receiver works fine. My solution is a splitter and a complete plugoff of the DBox.

        Hello,

LNB with optical fiber, can this be a solution?
        Anyone got experience with this?

No, I don't think that this is a solution. If the loopthrough receiver keeps his 18V voltage the other receiver can't switch to 14V (vertical). In this case there is no difference between a loopthrough or a switch.

If you have a motorised dish, i dont think you will be able to watch channels on 2 different satellites at the same time. Unless there is a way around that?

No, in that case you can only watch the one satellite you have focused. But this with both recievers
              No other chance.

and of course remains the problem between vertical and horizontal switch...

If I switch the dbox2 complete off (unplug the electrical socket) it turns the loopthrough function completly off and interrupts the signal. No signal on the other box behind the dbox2. Not a really usable result.

                    hi

                    that's true
when it works like you tell, really useless function on the dbox2 ...
                    and if you switch boxes?

I think he was talking about what I've added before (original box of SK* IT)...every box has its own methods...

If I switch I can/must completly unplug the electrical socket from the dbox2. If I only turn to deep standby the horizontal transponders work fine, the vertical have much signal loss. So I use the switch and turn the power off when I use the other receiver.

                          hi marian321

I meant dish -> 'in' other box -> 'out' other box (loop through) -> 'in' dbox2. Did you try this?

Yes, with my skymasterdxh80 same result: The skymaster keeps the lnb-voltage of the last channel 14v or 18v - unusable.

With my Humax5400 everything went well. Thats a loopthrough as it should be. Everything went well.
