Re: Can i switch between two receivers on one dish
The main reason was to be able to use the Eaglebox for its multi media player that plays any format you throw at it,and the spiderbox for sat general use.
Thanks for the help guys.Comment

not sure, but isn't there more chance on signal loss or interference with a splitter (just a feeling)? - if there are problems with loop-through one can always change the boxes (in case they are different).Comment

With some boxes, just like the original box of SK* IT, that's not enough to stop power to LNB: you have to unplug electrical socketComment

hi
or in case this happens with one of the boxes: see my post #21:

Ok, won't work with eg the original boxes of SK* ITComment

Re: Can i switch between two receivers on one dish
Another problem of signal splitting is the loss of signal quality and lnb voltage from every used element.
My experience are:
10m cable: ~0,05V
Diseqc switch: ~0,2V - 0,3V
Splitter: ~0,2V
cable f-plug: ~0,05V - 0,1V
If you have too many parts (e.g. splitters) in your signal, your lnb-power can go down.Comment

loop thru or splitter at the end of the day i think really its the same thing a good quality external splitter might have less loss but needs another patch lead six and half a dozen, anyway splitter seems to work fine.Comment
