hi guys

thanks to @John (earlier reply), but still struggling a bit - dish 1,5m temporarily installed (with a compass, finetuning with a satfinder will be for later) - most satellites between 42E and 30W seem to be ok. So same question as before (want to avoid scanning for weeks and weeks): which sats (and perhaps channels) are the most interesting for movies and sports (movies in original audio)? - Astra 1, 2, 3 and Hotbird 13 I know of.

Also important: need to be open with cccam (satlover) - @toby: the salon movies don't open anymore -> right?

i am picking up vu+solo (below) next time i'm in cyprus, march, just a couple questions on satellite 27.5 west.

1/ i pressume this box can handle the high symbol rates on the bbc etc channels.

Many Asian DTH working on high symbol rate, So solo2 have no issue to pick these Signals

Apologies to Mods for being off topic..... The BBC channels on 27W use a symbol rate of 44100 which can cause problems on a lot of Receivers.

I can confirm that I can open the bbc channels on 27.5W with my sole 2 using vix image.

@toby69,
Vu solo 2 and vu duo both working on this sat so solo should be OK.

The problem that you could have is dish size I cant find any confirmation that a 2.7 will work, any chance of making enquiries there to find out.

I would suggest if you get the box to set it up in the UK so you know it works because most sat meters wont work on a high symbol rate to get a lock.
A programme for windows that will help is Enigma signal meter it shows snr,db and agc just take your laptop out to the dish and connect to the vu.

That's the plan my friend, will bring back vu solo box from Cyprus this march and set it up on motorised dish here in uk to receive English chns, and test in Cyprus on big dish in the future.
