Most dealers do mate, but it's a doddle to flash a vu+.
Get a flash drive formatted to fat 32.
Power off reciever at the back.
      Unzip image onto flash drive.
Browse the flash drive and it should have a vuplus folder. Inside that is the duo folder. Inside that is the image.
Insert flash drive and power up with the power switch at the back.
      Follow instructions on display.
When it tells you to, you unplug the flash drive and reboot.
      Job done!

my personal choice would a Vu+ duo. More support. more help on the internet and it can do almost everything. Can't call it a superbox but can compete a superbox.

          hi guys

hmmm - still not convinced ... - ok, when you look at the specs VU+ and DB they are far the best. So far I completely agree.
However: what interests me the most is the opening of channels ; shortly: what can a VU+ or DB open more than my other boxes (client = gift and/or cccam - for now I don't see the advantage of server usage)??

If you want just to open channels then you are better with your existing receiver but if you want to learn more and control your receiver from your pc using linux and give it computer instructions then you need something more excieting. Its always fun to bring some fun to your Viewing experience.

If you want the best deal, buy from germany.
Satstore.tv is pretty good. Get a vu+ duo delivered to the u.k. for around £240.
The site also has a tab to change the language to english, which is handy.
              Have a look.

                  £25 to flash the image? That's a rip-off. Honestly mate, it's a 5 minute job.
If you want to buy from uk go to world of satellite ebay page and make an offer. They flash image for free. But £25 to flash an image is a piss take.
You'll most likely still have to load cccam, etc yourself as the images no longer have them for download on their servers.
Or buy for £240 from satstore.tv. and flash it yourself.
Will it be connected to your home network?

£240 is a very good price for a vu+ i must admit i thought £25.00 to flash the image was a rip off just another way to make extra money it will be connected to my home network

Re: moving on to my next receivers

Like I said, flashing image is a piece of cake once you've done it once or twice.
Just need a flash drive and your pc.
I use dreamboxedit and dreambox control centre for channel lists, ftp, telnet, etc.
Easy once you've done it a couple times.
TSpanel is also very helpful for your cams, channel lists, plugins, etc.
If you want to buy from the u.k. go to ebay and make an offer on world of satellites page.
probably get it for about £275 delivered, and they are second to none for customer support, etc.
And they are definately genuine receivers, not clones, which is one thing you have to look out for.

These 2 links are useful. In the second link, look at post 4 for instructions on installing TSpanel.
Need dreambox control centre for this.

Mate, bargain of the year. vu+ ultimo, which really is the nuts, for £339 on fleabay.
I am so tempted as this is a triple tuner receiver, which is currently the vu+ flagship stb.
If I wasn't waiting for the solo2 and duo2 to be released, I would've snapped one up already.

There will always be a hiccup here and there, that's what makes it fun
