    Re: [NEW] Vu+ DUO2 and Vu+ SOLO2

It certainly is a big step up aesthetically from the original vu+ duo.
The uno and ultimo were also a big improvement but the duo2 really is lovely. Not quite sure what the colour display will be for though.

      Re: [NEW] Vu+ DUO2 and Vu+ SOLO2

Looks very much like a mini TV screen on the Duo2, even with the specs on the Solo2 its an Ultimo Killer straight away faster processor, Faster larger capacity ram. Infact the only thing the Ultimo has going for it is the 3x Plug & Play tuners and its big VFD display.

      Roll on December.

        Re: [NEW] Vu+ DUO2 and Vu+ SOLO2

I was about to get an ultimo as well, thank goodness I didn't.
I have no need for a third tuner, just liked the look of it.
Hopefully the duo2 will have pluggable tuners.
Like digi said. Roll on december.

As far I understand these boxes will not be based on enigma2, but on XMBC.
You see that VU also go to use the Opera Browser, just like ET does....
          from what I've read they'll be both equipped with broadcom CPUs (solo2 7356 and duo2 7424, 1.3GHz 3K+ DMIPS

the dual screen looks a good idea, what do you think the possiblies of this screen is ????

The Big Question is that are the new boxes plug and play? I think Solo2 will go for just below the price of Ultimo but Duo will be dearer than Ultimo. Both have got a better processor and colour screen display.

                Re: [NEW] Vu+ DUO2 and Vu+ SOLO2

Well I certainly hope it won't be more than the ultimo. Reckon they'll be shooting themselves in the foot if it is as the ultimo is triple tuner.
Can't see how they could charge more for a twin tuner than a triple tuner.
I realise that it'll have a much faster processor. But hopefully, as technology has moved on since the duo first came out, it won't make to much of a price difference.
                I better start saving now

My understanding is that they will be running Linux (Enigma 2) not XBMC.
Would love to know what the extra processor speed will be needed for?
They manage ok as is, so why will they need the extra speed?
Will it maybe be a full blown media centre/stb.

I've seen some prices quoted on another forum. Duo2 @ 599 euro and the solo2 @ 399 euro.
Not sure if these are accurate as there is not even a release date yet.
Solo2 for that price, yes please!

There will always be people willing to pay for a premium product and as they have a lot of satisfied customers with their current range I do not think it will be a problem. I would certainly be interested in one as I would like to expand my knowledge with a Linux box in the future and these new boxes will definitely be on a short list.

                            Regards Mobley3

                              Well,

if the price is 599 for the duo2, the ultimo will be a bargain.

Vu+ is going to be as much expensive as the dreambox :/

                              Not good

But the ultimo can't be used as a media centre, The duo2 will be.
It all depends on what you want from it.
That is just a rumored price, and it will come down over time.
I think the solo 2 is what I'll go for.
