You can get the dm800hd se from china for about £150 or the dm800 hd for about £110.
TBH, If I were you, I'd go for a vu+ Duo clone.
As I've already mentioned, i have one and it's great. Loads of support, loads of room for an internal hdd and a twin tuner for £190.
If you don't want twin tuner then I'd go with the dm800hd se or a vu+ solo.
Can't comment on a blade, but from what I've heard it's the easiest to get used to and does everything you need. Think it also auto updates channel lists.

Why is the vu supposed to be better than dreambox 800?

Where in china can I buy these from?

Lastly, ive heard from a friendly source that s~l~y plan to bring CS to an end this yeat...is there any truth in that mate and can they stop it?

oh and the only issue with blade is that it lacks open source.

Twin tuner means you can watch one and record another channel at the same time. I have 1 feed hooked up to sky minidish and one to motorised dish so I can always just flick to sky instantly.
The only real advantage of a vu+ over dreambox is the twin tuner.
If you only want single tuner dreambox is good.
Buy them from aliexpress or dhgate. Also a few places that sell them in uk for slightly more.
Not sure about the rumour you heard. It's just the chance we take.
With a motor you can view from loads of satellites.
Free movies out there, with english audio. Loads of sports on tring, sky italia, canalsat, etc. All open with a good cline.

@ toby69 - thanks for the link mate...i tried it, but its so confusing...the dm800s with wifi, with alpha 801, d6 version, m version...they all seem the same to me I simply need the dm800HD SE - don't need any special wifi adapters (unless they are free!) as i'm going to use direct ethernet connection to my router.

@ bokkie - thanks very much for the websites, although again i couldn't find the box i needed, although some boxes such as the VU+ had free shipping included, which is the same as buying a DM800HD SE????. If i got a VU+, then would i need two dishes or lnb's to record a channel, whilst watching another? Remember i only have one fixed mini-dish with one lnb and one wire coming into the box and that setup is NOT going to change.

Yes, with a vu+ duo you'd need a twin lnb and two coax feeds into the receiver. but if only using for sky then you only need 1 dish. You might even have a twin lnb already, have a look.
If going for the dm800hd se, I've heard the sunray is very good, make sure it's a rev m tuner.
So if you're only going to watch/record one channel at a time the dm800hd se is a good option.
Search for the box you want on aliexpress, or if you dont want to go through china, there are uk suppliers.

In that case, its only dm800 se I can go for as the dish is on chimney and only.has one lnb.

I've never owned a dreambox, just going by what others have suggested.
I wouldn't want to point you to something and never have actually had experience with it.
From what I've read Sim 2.10 is better than Ferrari. Make sure it's a Rev m tuner and 800hd se is better than 800hd.
you can also ****** yaoxin industries. find tina's email address on their website and email her for prices. I've heard she's pretty good.
That or aliexpress or nextbay.biz.

My vote is for a chinese DM800HDse too, cheap and very good, stable, fast and very easy to use - at the beginning it seems complicated - but in reality is not.
It's a question of reading a few things...

website correct, compare prices to aliexpress, dhgate, mixeshop, nexybay.biz, etc.
If you don't want wifi or triple tuner, get the other one.
Make sure it's rev m tuner. Also sim 2.10 is best.

Don't go clone. One bricking session and you'll be buying a new one and wished you'd bought the real thing in the first place which would have been cheaper to boot.

I'm very happy with my vu+ duo clone. I'm going to set it up for my needs and not do much tinkering, so hopefully it'll be ok.
I think you have to be more careful with a clone and an original is definately safer. But I am well happy with my stb, and learning loads.
