hi happy camper, totally agree with you, if you are struggling to get your head around entering clines an nlines, that was about the first thing i cracked back in may, as you know you lost chns so you start searching and testing c an n lines free all over the web, i found some of the n/lines for free quite good, particular a certain sport bunch.
as to linux boxes i also like yourself looked into those, a guy at local sat shop, his words were they are like computers an you need to know what your doing, also put me off, but best way to learn is to take the plunge, always help on various forums, but best if you know anyone thats got one, glad you sorted you problem now with lines. plenty more to learn.

Great support on here toby ,definatley going to take the plunge and get a Linux of some kind .Then the fun will start,you will all soon get fed up with all my questions. But hey if you dont ask or read every post how else will we improve.. Thanks for putting up with me. Cheers...

no worries mate, its people like you that help a lot of others, there are people that worry about posting so they learn by reading, new members coming on forum every day but dont post much? yes my next box will confuse me also.

hi happy camper sorry for late reply been busy the thing that stumped me was the id part once i figured out from other replys that you put your own made up numbers in cracked it as long as nowbody else was using the numbers all ok the funny thing is i am also thimking of a new box need to learn a lot more first.

Hi rob yes the boxes I am looking at favorably at the minuite are the Dreambox 800hd dm8000se and the VU Boxes.think I have got the models right .But at the end of the day it comes down to cost and justifying it to the Missus. Cheers...

hi happy camper we seem to be looking at the same boxes like you say its all down to the price their seems to be quite a lot of clones about rather cheap got a lot of doubts about these ones but compaired to the real ones who knows.

Hi again rob as regards the clones you will see from some of the answers to my questions, some of the more experianced members have had clones for some time with good results.They are cheaper but I think Iwill go for original just for piece of mind.

Talking of line symbols,I dont know if its the spider or not but the last couple of c lines I have tried would not work if I Inclued C: .Leave it out and connected strait away.

happy camper, you do not need to enter c:
thats just to tell you its a c/line like
n: denotes n/line
f: denotes friend line.

i entered one cline 2day, 22cards connected straight away.

Hi toby I am possibly getting confused,I feel shure in some my earlier posts i was told to input the line as you see it?which I thought included the C:and in fact I think some of the lines connected with it included.Anyway leaving out today was ok.

well you can certainly experiment but i have never entered them, i read somewhere yes enter as you see it but, ignore the c: bit.

That only counts if you are still entering by remote by usb it automaticly edits the lines for you and no mistakes
