      Hi,

      Just get a crossover cable. They are dirt cheap on eBay.

      They look exactly the same as ethernet cables but are wired slightly differently.

      One end goes in back of Spidey, where ethernet currently is, the other end into laptop.

            just a quickie from a non tec, what can be gained by conecting satellite box to laptop or computer, or is this just for downloads. thanks

              This is because you will not have a router with u, only yhe laptop, right? When on a holiday, u have your laptop, then the laptop connects to the net via wifi. Then your box can connect to the server. I hope i'm right.

                  Hi happy camper If you are traveling in the camper park nr a hotel,macdonalds,ect and get a free internet connection or if camping on a site download some wifi sniffer software and a cantenna aerial and piggy back on there wifi suprising how many have no encryption on there routers.

                      LOL....I have a buddy who's an IT geek and when he goes shopping with his missus at a well known shopping centre in the SE, when he gets bored using his Iphone he hacks into shops routers and changes the passwords!

                        i can better that, when missus an me go shopping, it coinsides with me watching a sly footy match in the pub, i drive there, an she drives back.

                                Some of them probley use the official box as well they may get the card and reciever as a package like you would if you had sly,so no pirate software or hardware used.and now legal to use in other countries,
