I understand your concerns mate. But when you want everything you have to do it right isn't it?

Honestly, I think that if you have access to all astra 28.2E channels there's really no major importance on having another dish pointed to other satellite.

But if you want more channels i would recommend you Astra 19.2E and Hotbird 13E because those satellites have the best pay-tv operators in Europe aside from Sky Uk.

    Hope it helps you (again)!

Isn't that the whole point of this hobby?

Just sticking to 28.2 is a bit limiting when there is so much more.....movies, sport, etc. etc.

just go for it shiplu, i started just the same with an old reciever where you had to program trans nums via a remote with the freqency num on tv an pressing the + an - buttons to go up the scale, managed to get 120cm dish an ended up with 28e, 19e, 13e, an 5e, with disque4 switch, set up was ground level with the aid of a portable tv.
there are times you can pull your hair out, but most are rewarding, have a go,
p.s. my lnb brackets i made with flat dexion, plenty holes in metal for adjusting, have never looked back on this interisting hobby

Can you really pickup West of 30w in the UK? I have a 1.5m and cannot reach beyond 30w based in the middle of the Country. Any tips.

Here is a section from my own spreadsheet I keep. It shows which beams you should be able to pickup from the UK. and the dish size required.
If you take the beam, and pick a strong channel from kingof sat or lyngs at and try to tune the channel in.

your 1.5m dish is plenty big.

Is there trees / property in the way of the signal?

Thanks for the info guys. My dish I bought for £50 but had to buy an LNB & add a motor. I guess I will have to give a nearby hedge a trim to extend my scope.
