Which Satellites can be pickup from UK

Im thinking about getting another satellite dish with multiple LNB.

does anyone know a list of satellites that can be pickup from the UK?

Here's the most important satellites you can receive:
- Astra 2A,2B,2D (28.2ºE)
- Astra 1E,1G,3A (23.5ºE)
- Astra 1H,1KR,1L,1M (19.2ºE)
- Hotbird 6,8,9 (13.0ºE)
- Eurobird 9A (9.0ºE)
- Intelsat 10-02 (1.0ºW)
- Atlantic Bird 1 (12.5ºW)
- Hispasat 1C,1D,1E (30.0ºW)

With multiple lnb's you will be limited prob cheaper to get a motor,

a motor don't need a flat roof just set it on where u have the dish now

Those above are what you can pick up with a Sky dish in the UK so the bigger the dish the more satellites you will be able to pick up, if you where going motorised if not then you will need at least 2 dishes 1 covering east and the other west for multiple LNB.

I wont be going motor. it will be diseqc switch with 4 LNB's.

I know Hot Bird 6 at 13.0°E is very popular any more like these?

I thinking getting a dish with 4 LNB in pointing at 4 different satellites using diseqc switch. i have already chosen the satellites for LNB1 and LNB2.


LNB1= 28.2e (SKY UK)
LNB2= Hot Bird 6 at 13.0°E
LNB3=??
LNB4=??

The spread of the satelites you want to receive doesn't be too wide.

So you can try to get Astra 19,2 in the middle of Astra 2 and Hotbird and Astra on 23,5 for example.

It depends on your satellite equipment ...

if thats the case I will forget about getting another dish and just stick with 28.2e.

Your dish can go on the ground,it does not have to go on a wall or roof,
if you have sight off the sats. If it goes on the ground it is only 10 to 20 foot further away from the sats, than when it is up on the roof, over the thousands of miles it is to the sats this will make no differance.

They don't have to be loose, can be buried in a hose pipe or similar protective casing. I've done this a few times without any problems.

i also have my cable cleeted on the pebble board of fence, i was once using disque switchs and ended up with 2 cables going into house, an three dishes about, what a mess,like other peeps said depends on dish size, went motor in the end now all sats from 45e/30w, much better no more fooling around

thats alot of work just to get channels from another satellite.
