Most Sat consumers find that 3D TV is better than 2D

This is what stands out from the publication of the latest survey by the consulting firm Frank N. Magid Associates, on behalf of Panasonic. 71% of respondents believe that 3D TV is much better than 2D, while 99% say it is at least "a little better." Another interesting fact is that 50% of respondents would like to have a 3D tv in the leavinroom. The study concludes that given the interest shown by users, and taking into account that are increasingly available 3D content (movies, channels. Games, events, etc ...), the domestic three-dimensional technology has a great future ahead .

But at the moment, there is a few channels broadcasting 3D TV, but there are many brands with TV that converts 2D to 3D so this sector is growing up day by day.
LG have 3 models with 2d to 3D features, and passive glasses, without batteries and no connection to the TV, you can use the cinema glasses on your home TV to see 3D contents. And this system is better for our eyes than the active glasses, told by experts in this matter.

lg used to have problems with their screens, but i think they have all sorted now, i have an LG and never had a days problem, so my next main tv will be an LG 3D "life is good"

In my opinion, 3D is for now. It is only for today. In a few years something better will come up and it will be better for our eyes to see, without special glasses.

For being able to watch 3D, 3D glasses are necessary.In my opinion this is not so available for virus spread or bacteria which is hazardous for eye health.Think about 3D movies on movie theatres,you are given 3 D glasses worn by many people.I don't think every cinema owner cares about hygiene.
And think about home ur friends,neighbours came to watch a match or a film and you give them glasses.What will happen then?
3 D is hazordous for eye health unless they develop a 3D tv without glasses.Toshiba is doing some experiments.

3d tv? how is this going, is there much 3d tv fta to watch at the moment, prosieben on19e aired some programes 30 october, is there much fta on the horizon for 3d, any hints welcome, i did not even realise you had to power glasses with batteries as findeciclo says in previous post, do you need up to date box to receive besides a 3d television, input all welcome.

I agree, thats the reason I will be waiting for 3D TVs that don't require glasses to be available before I think of buying one. I believe the technology is there for small screen ones, so large screen ones can't be far off.

I'm using Samsung 46"3D TV. If you ask me "How often do you watch TV or move on 3D mode ?" I will say " No more than 1 hour per week " ( sometimes less ). It is not for everyday or regular use ( if you care about your eyes) . 3D content is pretty low nowadays ant it is hard to find something catching your attention. It become attractive when you watch cartoons with yours "little devils" at home or when playıng 3D games on your PS3 . Finally 3D isn't must but if you has it it's enjoyable.

I do not believe that 3D tv will be successful on a large scale in the future. Simply, its too many gadgets, costs, can be uncomfortable and the content available is not really readily available on a regular basis. Maybe, a higher resolution above HD 1080i/P will be the next big thing.

thanks guys, cleared a few things up for me, hoped it helped others, for myself now i will hang on and see what the future brings in as it is not long ago we, meaning missus an myself started getting hd, we very pleased with that at mo and as kalpikos says 3d tv is for today, things move very fast today and can be caught out with something which does not hit off, i personally think 3d will not go very far, but might be wrong, thanks again.

Yes, I'm also waiting to see how 3D will look on 70" TV with ‘Super-HD’ (7680x4320 pixels ) resolution Sadly , we have to wait till 2020

On the 5th november Toshiba announced it 3d without glasses tv it is called the regza gl1 but it is only 20 inches

Hey that would be good holographic tv. you would be able to walk through the scene and view it from all sides.
