Aluminium foil paper coated dish setup

I had stuck aluminium foil paper in my 6ft prime focus dish. After that the signal strength was increased up to 70 to almost 100 some channels from Asiasat-105.5East.The next few days, heat produced in the focal point and damaged one KU band lnb. Then I had painted on it with wood primer.Any of our member experienced this type of dish set up.Pl.see the images.

Yes, conax2. It may burnout your LNB. Please be carefull.

Your set up is a Prime Focus so the focusing of Sunrays is more prone to be directed on to your Lnb with disastrous results. Avoid these types of reflecting materials.

This is good for wi-fi signal of internet kind, or mobile antenna, but not for sat antenna, you can burn someone my friend, this is a special weapon

Never use a reflective surface without paint or 0ther coatings in such experiments.

Was there any signals loss after painting the surface?
Dear friend, after painting, there was around 20% signal loss.Aluminium foil paper do some thing better, but any way to reduce the heat in the focal point?Experts pl.explain.

Don't know really what you can do to to avoid the consentration of the sunrays on to the Lnb...perhaps what you can try is cutting an 8 inch hole on the aluminium foil in the exact centre (leaving the rest intact) so that there won't be any reflections onto the Lnb and in the meantime you would have the rest of the aluminium foil doing its work. Just Try.

I think it has to be an equilibrium between reflection and heat factor.
You can't have both : meaning low heat and very high reflection

I accept you conax, the signal reflects from all around the dish's surface. Thanks, good day.

Yes they are reflected from the whole surface of the Dish but the main Focal concentration onto the lnb will be coming from the prime focus of the Dish, i.e., the center of the Dish, otherwise you can point the lnb to any part of the dish and still receive the signal, but it’s not the case. I volunteered the cutting of the center foil so that although you would still have maximum collection of signals to divert on to the lnb, the transfer of the sunrays won't be passed to the lnb. Anyway it was just a thought to experiment with.

Dear alfred I tried with stuck foil paper only on the center portion, but there were no signal improvement compare to fully stuck foil paper dish.

Well actually what I said was to leave the stuck foil paper on the whole Dish but to cut the center portion only, about 8 inches.

Good Technique but not good practice, you my friend has created the death ray dish,
how about painting it silver with matt finish,
                            gona go do some DIY
