I would recommend a openbox s9 hd, as it is extremely easy to use.

Rather than waste your money on a Genuine Dreambox why not look at the TM800. For half the price you get FULL HD 1080p not 1080i as in the DB800. Also wifi module (extra) RF out, loop through tuner and twin scart the list goes on......

I was very close to purchasing this box and I was asking alot of questions about it, but the general consesus was that there is alot of problems associated with it at the moment. Alot of bugs are present and not many customers are happy, so for now I am going to leave it.

My Bad,

I've been away from the mainstream sat forums for a while, and tbh, I would have been expecting to be hearing "Bells & Whistles" by now for the TM800.

Alas, as you (odysseas1991) have posted, things are not looking good for the newbie with this stb. I do know that there are some VERY active users doing their bit to get things moving, and they have a lot more a stake in its developement than may be apparent from the negative reviews.

It's a shame that the hardware is good, but developement......not finnished.

yes it is. DM has got stable enigma2 that other receivers do NOT.

you're still facing unstable version or new bugs. but maye also new features.

sir i would say dont more confuse with multiple choice of hd boxes. Just go with dm800 , because no. of experts of dm box can help to you if any problems create in you dm box but in other company sat boxes you cant get so much help on internet.

Dreambox 8000 brilliant box.....
Dreambox 800 HD original expensive but a good box
Dreambox 500HD cheaper than 800 and i thought the picture quality was better than the 800 and also fan is silent.......still a bit of cash but worth it.....
Blade 7000HD ......if not bothered about a full linux box then this is the one for the money £150 retail at most places , full 1080p ,
CLONES.....hit and miss , u can get lucky and get a decent reliable box or get a peice of unreliable crap with fans that sound like planes taking off , if you do go down the clone route then try to soure a good supplier with decent feedback on quality , you can buy 10 of the same box and see differences in all depending on who manufactured them ,

Think of the start price and think how long do you hopefully want to use the box for ? originals are pricey but you will get your monies worth eventually ...........

I have a dm 500s and extra work. It all depends on what the needs of which and thing dm800 is better
