Re: Which is the best hd box

I use a DM 800HD se with 1000GB HDD. I think is the best receiver at the time. I hear the Octagon HD receiver is not bad, but I don’t try it. You can purchase any receiver Octagon, DM, OpenBox, but you must know before how many apps you want to use.

Re: Which is the best hd box

Guys, there is alot of mention about dreamboxes. Having never seen or owned one myself as I have only been a technomate user, can people describe its advantages and disadvantages? I.e Can you load softcams, CCCAM capability, wifi? fan is quiet? fast zapping? Internal RAM, interfaces can be edited? Linux? Stability of the patches/images?

I have no idea which boxes have this so if any boxes can do all this what is the model number? In particular, a wifi capability would be nice

I have vu+duo and also a clone DM800HD. i prefer vu+duo very quick, stable and also it support many USB wifi and tuners. Also more than one tuner with lastest firmw. I like blackhole image.

I didn't try much but I'm very pleased whith my DM800HD PVR (second stage) and the Black Hole image loaded (connected an 160GB 2,5" HDD). Works very well and the image quality is amazing... of course you'll need a full HD tv set or monitor. I have tested it on an 23" LG monitor and the image is perfect aswell as on a full hd TV set.

I have one octagon but no good,an D-BOX but not HD,and one dream 800 hd clone, that is good because have good suport for image and plugin but is true the cooler make noise and must lubricate.I think Clarke tech Et 9000 now is the best hardware configuration.

Well I think I can fill you in on this. I had/have three Dreamboxes for the last 2 Years...had DB 800 now sold.... now have 1 DB 8000 Twin Tuner With Hard Drive and DVD....and the latest DB 800 se (second Edition) with a hard drive as well. The Hard Drives and Dvd are optional. These are all Original Dreamboxes never had Clones. Advantages almost everything you can think off....Softcams CCcams wifi (The Dr 8000 has wifi in built The other you can insert a USB Wireless Adabter.(thats what I use on my 800 se) Ram 256 mb, Fans one is standard on box (DB800 SE) the other (DB8000 ) you can insert and provided you get the right Fan it will be very quite. Zapping is amazing. Linux yes, Now if you apply a good Image (which normally all are) you will have a very stable Image and the picture quality is astounding. Disadvantages: Well since these are Linux boxes you have to get used to them by time, at first they might drive you nuts (I am exagerating) but once you get use to them (and you have to play with these boxes) then they are a marvel to behold. For further info go to their site (Dream-Multimedia).

DM500HD is the best box by considering the power of the box & Cash.
It use the same processor of 800seHD & 8000HD.

I can recommend a Spiderbox 9000 - as a complete newbie I find it extremely easy to use with excellent picture quality.
