    skybox m3 help

hi there, i just purchased a skybox m3, its sitting next to my modem at home and im just receiving free to air at the minute, im wondering what i need to do to get the scrambled channels, i previously had a cable dreambox so was able to do all the bits and pieces with that box so hopefully i can get a grip of the cardsharing thing fairly quickly.

any help and points in the right direction greatly appreciated.

    thanks in advance....OZ

    Re: skybox m3 help

1.You need a patched firmware for you box same firmware as F3.
2.Use one of satlovers test cline put it in cccam.cfg or create using notepad.
3.Put this on usb stick and connect to your box.
4.Go into network Cccam settings, update by usb, make line active.
(You can skip 3 and 4 if you use lan tool/ftp tool.)
5.Restart your box, go to a scrambled channel wait to see if channel clears. Only use one line at a time from satlovers server.

For Satlover's server don't zap too quickly as it takes some time may be about 10 seconds to open a channel. Its all been already discussed in that thread anyway.

i installed the latest firmware but in the satellite list it starts on 68.5E and works it way up, there is no astra 28.2E, can i install it manually or how do i get around it....?

          thanks again...OZ

ok did a manual scan and got all the channels, now just to fiddle about with clines and see where we get, some great info to be had on this forum....

ok lads im using this guide for cline set up, but i cant find "CCcam client setup", i think this guide is for an openbox and im using a skyboxM3, is there anywhere i can find a guide for an M3, thanks again.

          CLINE SETUP
1: Go back to main menu
          2: Select Network
          3: Select "CCcam Client Setup"
4: If you have a cccam.cfg on your usb, select 'Update files by usb' if not, jump to number 27
5: On new window, highlight 'CCcam.cfg', press green button on remote (ADD). This will place a tick by it, the press yellow button on remote (READ)
6: Once finished, select 'Manage Config Files' and on new window select cccam.cfg again
7: A new page comes up with your cline on it, press green button on remote to make it active (tick should appear by it) Exit out of all menus to tv and select a pay channel.. it should clear, if not go back into menu, select Network, then 'Network Setup', and turn DHCP 'off' by using arrow keys and then hitting apply.
8: if channel still doesnt clear, reboot box and router by unplugging both from power and plugging back in (router first)
9: for those who didnt create a cccam.cfg on their usb, you can add it manually..
a] instead of update by usb on ccccam client setup, go directly to Manage Config Files and select CCcam.cfg from new window
b] Press Blue button on remote
c] your cline will look something like this>>> C: example.cline.org 12000 user pass
d] ON add cline window, leave Protocol as CCcam
e] Host: here you would enter example.cline.org portion of your cline using remote number buttons like you was sending a text
f] Port: here you put 12000
          g] User, write 'user' here
          f: Password, write 'pass' here
g] Press ok and go up to instruction number 7 OF CLINE SETUP

Are you sure its not there, maybe you are not scrolling down or press the right arrow button and you should see it.

You can add them manually for the Satellites you want in Menu> Satellite list name it Sky position 28.2 east.

ok did a manual scan and got all the channels, now just to fiddle about with clines and see where we get, some great info to be had on this forum
Are they English channels? If you have fixed sat dish and do a scan you will get the channels it is pointing at i.e 28.2.

You should be connected automatically only thing to check is that the network settings on the box and ensure that DHCP is set to ON.

                      To update by usb.
Format the usb to fat32,use notepad to create your cfg file and save it as CCcam.cfg, exactly as written. Drag and drop line in to your CCcam.cfg file on your usb, plug it into skybox and go to cccam update by usb and update it.
Might have to try a few lines, but only one at a time.
Try at about 4:00 p.m. they're normally updated around that time.

Instead of manually entering cline or by usb use the FTP tool so you can update the cline and other cofig files from the comfort of you computer it is easy.

ok i created a CCcam.cfg file with notepad and put it on my usb, well at least i think i did, this is what i done.

                              1. i opened notepad and copied and pasted a free cline form the site.
                              2. i then saved the file as CCcam.cfg then i sent it to my usb.
                              3. i then went to my CCcam client set up and selected update files by USB.
                              4. i then selected Ccam.cfg and pressed green to add and then yellow to read and this is what i got.

                              Now reading..../Cccam.cfg
                              Cccam.cfg not found!
                              read all finished.....

i just see your reply for manual set up, i'll give it a go now, thanks very much again....
