    DM500HD - Backup the current image

    In principle, how to make a backup image, dear lagush already painted all details and pictures on the DM800 example here, for which he has great personal thanks ...

    However, there are nuances. Therefore, I decided to create a theme and put my archives to create a backup (see end of post).

    Nuance of the first. If you want to save the factory image, the plug-NFI-Backup will have to search the Web and install it on his hands. And how it will work, I honestly did not check.
    At IHAD section database can find the plugin FlashBackup, which supports DM500HD receivers. To date, the latest version of the plugin 1.2 (see end of post).

    Installing the plugin FlashBackup 1.2:
    1. Unzip and copy the FTP file enigma2-plugin-extensions-flashbackup_1.2_mipsel.ipk from the archive in the directory / tmp Dreama.
    2. Connect to the Dream through Telnet and run:

    ipkg install / tmp/enigma2-plugin-extensions-flashbackup_1.2_mipsel.ipk

    If all the good, the plugin installed:
    Code:
    root @ dm500hd: ~ # ipkg install / tmp/enigma2-plugin-extensions-flashbackup_1.2_mipsel.ipk
    Installing enigma2-plugin-extensions-flashbackup (1.2) to root ...
    Configuring enigma2-plugin-extensions-flashbackup
    * Plugin installed successfully *
    * For questions visit: www.i-have-a-dreambox.com *
    * GUI restart is required to enable the plugin *
    root @ dm500hd: ~ #
    And after restart Enigma2 it can be used through the Plugins menu. Be sure to only connect any drive to the Dream though on external eSATA, though a drive on the network. Dream Plus must be connected to the Internet.

    The nuance of the second. The plugin works FlashBackup crooked and do not support the creation of off-line image. So I spread my archive podpravlennye script, as well as the last date secondstage loader # 77 with the checksum required for a backup (see end of post).

    Installing the archive:
    1. Extract the contents of the zip-archive to FTP to the directory / tmp Dreama.
    2. Subscribe to the Dream through Telnet and let the two teams:
    cd /
    tar-xzvf / tmp / flashbackup.tar.gz

    If all the good it will install the necessary files in the system and can make a backup image right on the spot via Telnet. The main thing not to forget that to create a backup we need to connect any hard disk space (eSATA, network drive, folder, computer, etc.). Dream Plus must be connected to the Internet.

    Code:
    root @ dm500hd: ~ # cd /
    root @ dm500hd: / # tar-xzvf / tmp / flashbackup.tar.gz
    usr / bin / buildimage
    usr / bin / build-nfi-image_en.sh
    usr/bin/mkfs.jffs2
    root @ dm500hd: / #
    Usage:
    build-nfi-image_en.sh DIRECTORY

    where:
    DIRECTORY - some kind of directory to mount the hard disk (for example, / media / hdd).

    Example:
    build-nfi-image_en.sh / media / hdd

    If your Dream for some reason not connected to the Internet or do you want the backup created with a specific loader, which you need or have (see end of post), it is possible to do so:

    1. Throw on FTP to / tmp directory Dreama loader and file with the checksum:
    secondstage-dm500hd-*. bin
    secondstage-dm500hd-*. bin.md5

    2. Writing in the telnet session, this command:

    build-nfi-image_en.sh DIRECTORY SWAPSIZE NUMBER

    where:
    DIRECTORY - some kind of directory to mount the hard disk (for example, / media / hdd);
    SWAPSIZE - the size of the swap in megabytes (eg, 128), 128 will be fine, but you can specify 0;
    NUMBER - number secondstage (eg, 77), should match your loader, otherwise known as "kin will not.

    Example:
    build-nfi-image_en.sh / media / hdd 128 1977

    Here, perhaps, that's all.
    In any of the three options for a backup will see a detailed log of the process or on the console or on the screen of your TV, if you used a plug-in menu. At the end of the log will see the path where you saved your backup:
    FlashBackup created in: / media / hdd / ...
    Take him out and save ponadezhneye He'll come in handy.
    Good luck.
Working...
