I suggest ffdshow codec. It's a free and open source codec based on ffmpeg project and supports a wide range of compression formats including HD codecs.

MPEG-2: CyberLink Video Decoder 10
H264/AVC: CyberLink Video Decoder 10 or Arcsoft (installer TMT 5)
Audio Renderer: Default directsound device
Audio Renderer for AC3: Default directsound device

No problem with HD& SD channel

As a very experienced DVB user for over 10 years, I can trustfully say that Cyberlink PowerDVD Codec is the best.

It's a very good codec but I have a problem with it when I try to watch HD channles with DVBDream. Maybe a DVBDream problem.

Audio codec for SD: Nvidia pure video
Video renderer: Video mixing renderer 7
Audio renderer: Default DirectSound device
H.264 codec: ArcSoft
AC3 codec: AC3Filter

Arcsoft need less CPU resources than many other codecs.

i use for SD Mainconcept MPEG-2 , and for HD i use CoreAVC. and all goes well.

i use LAVCUVID-0.13 decoder for HD,SD and for Audio POWERDVD 12. i tried so many other codec but this is the best for NVIDIA graphiccards

I use Shark007 codec pack. It contains up to date ffdshow + Lav + others and allows you to enable/disable individual components as you need.

Will also cleanly uninstall putting your codecs back to default settings.
