Steps to get fully working remote/sensor
1. Open your remote control, get nail polish remover and gently clean PCB where the button is contacting. Clean two three times GENTLY!!
2. remove two resistors one before diode and another just before transistor this will give exta V to operation of remote but the life of battery will be shorter.
3. Replace Sensor on DM800 with
VISHAY - TSOP4138. - PHOTODIODE, IR RECEIVER, 38KHZ
35M range !!! if this is not enough fit aluminum foil around.
Picture of which resistors have to be removed
4. Get another IR emitter for remote VISHAY - TSAL5300 - IR EMITTER, 950NM. Or live it like it is. I dont know specification of original diode what wavelength is. Thats why I give you example. Probably original diode has less wavelenght
If you replace IR receiver and it will not work then IR emitter needs replacing with above one. Parts are really cheap the cost of diode is about 0.34 euro/pound. Also we could use a emitter with viewing angle of 180 degrees but it dosent look like a normal diode. We will need some plastic cover on front of remote to make it looks nice. Measure your original diode in remote and search on farnell.com put IR emitter 950 nm and find suitable size for you.
