SIM 1 Update tool
Upgrades SIM 1 #69 to SIM 1 #72
Remove SIM card from receiver. Connect usb card reader with sim to PC. Open Sim_One_Tools and select reader. Open file dm800-bf69to72.apd. There are 6 lines in it. Select each line one by one and send command to SIM
Note: it is not possible to upgrade Sim1 to Sim2. With some clones, it is possible to replace the sim card by a version 2, but it is not 100% reliable.

SIM 2 Update Tool
Upgrades to SIM 2 to SIM 2.01. Only use with sim 2.0 clones (release number is written on the cim card).
Use a phoenix programmer to program the card.

This is a false BL76 for clone. Do not flash a real BL76 image, only use a patched one.

BarryAllen patch for clone
Remove protection in BarryAllen installer in order to get install successful.
Start installing Barry Allen normally using ipkg file. Through an FTP client quickly overwrite the preinst file created by the install process. And BarryAllen should install fine.

Image patcher
Convert original images to SIM201-75 images. Unpack the rar file in the HDD Dreambox under a directory called patcher. You should have the following tree:

/mnt/hdd/patcher/bin
/mnt/hdd/patcher/org
/mnt/hdd/patcher/patch.sh

(you can use an other directory, but you will need to modifiy the WORKDIR variable in patch.sh file)
Chmod patch.sh to 755. Place orignal image in folder /mnt/hdd/patcher/org/
Edit patch.sh, change image type (OE 1.5 and OE 1.6) and run patch.sh

Patch Original Image with SS72
The following tuto will explain how to patch manually an original image in order to install it in flash. For this tuto you need BarryAllen.
First install the image you want to patch on multiboot using BarryAllen. Remember that using multiboot, the BootLoader loaded in memory in always the one from the flash image.
From Barry Allen menu create a nfi backup image of the image you want to patch (follow the 3 pictures below).






Select the last install image and choose a relevant name.






When the backup is done, Enigma restart and you can get the image in the "MB_images" directory.
The problem is that BarryAllen will compile the backup image with the latest BootLoader it will download if it is not already available in "MB_images".
First solution is to use a legacy released of BarryAllen based on SS72. Or second solution is to patch manuall release 5.1.5 of BarryAllen. For that you need to edit ba.sh file under media/ba directory.
In DCC (or other), edit ba.sh and replace 75 by 72 in line 281.

lige 261, remplace 75rV by 721

Save file


The image will be compiled with SS72 (the reboot is unnecessary).
You can now install the image directly in flash.

How to repair a dm800
When it is not possible to flash under DreamUP and when we have the following error message "No ca found by 2nd stage loader" it is possible to force DreamUP to flash.


1st solution: use a sane dm800. Connect it to the PC, open DreamUp, choose the COM port and click connect. Connect the null wire to the broken dm800 and flash it.
2nd solution: connect the broken dm800 to the PC, launch DreamUp, click connect. Then after the error message, launch the attached program to enable the Flash button in the DreamUp interface and flash normally.

These drivers are working on sim201 bootloader 76 only
The features of original drivers are
- update dm800/dm8000/dm500hd drivers
- fix more deadlocks introduced with SMP changes
- better recording/playback/demux performance
- add aspectratio signaling via hdmi avi info frame for 576i/p and 480i/p
- add vtuner support for multi type tuners
- some internal fixes/changes to improve stability
by these patched drivers you will get all feature except the marked red

FAN modification
In order to reduce the noise of the clone fan, it is possible to solder a 110 Ohms resistor on the red fan wire . But it is also possible to activate it only when watching HD channels. For that you need to solder the red wire to the mentioned point:

did you try by yourself? is it really for the bl76 or also 75 ? I heard 76 is just a fake.

Does this driver maybe also increase the connectivity of the Remote Control?

I use the last Dream Elite which has up to date drivers, so i didn't try this specific one.
The BL76 for clone is a fake and is in reality the 75.
The remote sensitivity is really an issue on these clones.
There are some possibilityto increase it. Personnally I removed the plastic upper front panel (the one which is in front of the OLED screen). You have to remove the argentic plastic bar (on left and right), then the plastic item can be removed.

The other possibility is to remove two resistors in the remote pcb (clone remote) and to replace them by two bridges like in the screen below. I didn't tested myslef, because I use a genuine remote which I reprogrammed (in order to implement custom macros and to pilot all my devices).

you mean the whole transparent plastic on the front?

i think it depends to your Image installed... Gemini from xx.xx.***x .... if it is before 28.05 then yes you have to.
