DM800 PVR clone - Boot problem

when I boot the device I see:

 Dream
    Multimidia
->error !
look at www.dm700.com
ERRO1: NO CA FOUND

I search for tutorial and...

I have a

- Windows 7 64bit (I can also use WinXP, Opensuse 64bit or Debian 32bit)
- dm800HD PVR Clone
- Crosscable
- DreamBoxTools v4.0

and...

1) Turn on the dm800
2) win: cmd - ipconfig return:169.254.200.190
3) I open DreamBoxTools v4.0
3 a) Open: DreamUp v1.3.3.2

question: wich Port I select (com1 or com2 ) ???????
remote ip box ????????????????????

Turotial - DM800 PVR clone - Boot problem

First of all I would like to thank the community for satlover help me solve my problems with CS and DM800
I searched a lot for information through ****** and asked friends how to solve this problem of inserting new firmware on my device.
This problem is solved and I am writing to help other friends from the community satlover.

I solved the problem as the first stage boot:

My tutorial:
1) turn off your computer and the dm800

2) first download the program: DreamBoxTools_V4.0

3) buy an rs232 cable 9 pin female / female (dm800 hd pvr)
rs232 9 pin female to mini USB (dm800se)


4) Purchase or make your ethernet crossover cable

5) connect RS232 cable to your computer and dm800


5.1) in DreamUP - probably you need select the port com1

you can check the port in windows:
..- Computer
....- Properties
......- Device manager
........- Ports (COM & LPT)


6) Connect the crossover Ethernet cable to your computer and device

7) Turn on your computer and the dm800

8) run DreamBoxTools_V4.0

9) open dreamup
9.1) select port (see item 5)
9.2) select local IP (PC) ... es. 169.254.31.182
9.2.1) to select an IP dm800 es. 169.254.31.192

10) Turn off your dm800

11) in DreamUp click "connect"

12) Turn on your dm800

13) wait for progress bar (+ / - 1min)

14) Open your favor browser (firefox for example) and enter the address in dm800:
es 169.254.31.192 (item 9.2.1)

14.1) select the image and upload
when finish the upload -> 100%
click in dreamup "disconnect" to disconnect

15) turn your dm800 off, wait a few seconds and turn on again


and voila!

i have a similar problem. i also have the error! message in the display. i also used dream up with a rs232 cable, and have tried with a network cable too. i had 4 times success to flash with dreamup and/or browser, as in the description above, but i couldnt use the box longer than 5-10 minutes then the box hang up. After a reboot there is then the error! message again in the display.

15:48:07 Log: +++ 006 erase failed at 00000000: ff. Block will be marked as bad.
15:48:07 Flashing failed (!!! 007 write failed at 00000000: ff), box will be unusable now!!

That's bad news you have a bad sector, this could make the box unusable.

Have you tried to repair the bad sectors with dreamup, open and select extras recover bad sectors.

Have you tried these clone enforcer tools to flash a new image?

Also make sure your flashing the correct bootloader in the image for your box.

i tried with: recover bad sectors too, but it doesnt help. there must be something wrong with the flash or ram, or the cpu? i think that the box is unusable at the moment. i also dont have any ideas what else i could do/try.

Try to find somebody that can change your flash memory, if you do that the reciver is fixed.

Is from memory flash not from CPU

thanks, but i dont know anybody who could change the flash memory. i sent the box back to china. i hope that the box will reach shenzen in china. i heard that it can take up to 6 weeks untill its there:-(
