    Remote control DM800hd very annoying

    Hi, my remote control is very annoying. I have to press very hard to hit the button and sometime it's not enought.

    Trying an image (not remember which one) I notice thatmy remote was better than ever!

    Is there any option that let you to personalize it?

    Thank you

    If you have your box for some years, it's normal to be dirty enough and not functioning properly.

    I suggest you to open it carefully and clean with alcohol the board as well as the plastic buttons with the metal conductors.

    I'm sure that you will see huge difference

        Compare the "eps" value in the file lircd.conf between the two images. This controls the "speed" of the remote.

          It would indicate battery is empty.
          Replace for new alcaline batteries.

            If your remote control doesn't get better, try to buy a teachable universal remote control which you can set to work with your receiver.

              For me it smells like the soft buttons have lost the right contact to the printed board.

              In this case i clean the buttons and put liquid gold ( liquid silver should doo the job, too ) on the buttons, let it dry and voila > the contacts work like in the first days

                Sometime, the Chinese's remote control of the dreambox clone is manufactured with very poor quality.

                If you clean it inside and you still have problem, then there is only one way...

                to buy a new universal remote control and get it off the old RC.

                Here you find some useful info:

                    I've not got my configs on this PC but IIRC it was changed from 30 to 45 (or vice versa). If you have one modify the file to the other, save and reboot. Perhaps safest to make a backup of the original file too if you want to experiment with these settings.

                    Thinking about it you probably need to reduce the value.

                    ie if it is
                    eps =45

                    then change it to

                    eps = 30

                    or even lower.

                          It depends upon the image. The first place to look is
                          /etc/lircd

                            Not exists.
                            I'm using a dream elite 4.0 experimental.

                              Sorry, I'm not familiar with that image. There must be a similar file elsewhere. Perhaps someone else knows.
