    Problem with losing the tuner.

Hi I have a DM 800 HD pvr clone.
    Tuner: Alp BSBE2 (DVB-S2)

When I'm looking at some of the channels I lose the tuner while watching.
Switching to a new transponder and back and it works for a short time again.

Is my tuner faulty, or could it be something else?
    I have great reception though.

Could it be the skew on the LNB? H/V proplem?

    Best Regards,
    Lingo74

      hi Lingo74

is it the signal/quality that goes to 0, or encrypted channels that go dark?
does this happen on all sats/tp's/channels? if only at some: did you try deleting this tp's/channels and rescan?

Have tried several images, right now I'm running latest Open PLi 2.1-beta.

When I lose it, it arrives as a message - Could not find tuner.
Signal is high 93% quality good as well, but lose it after the message.

All faulty channels are on the same transponder. Have deleted and rescan without help.

But it's multiple transponders that act this way, and even on different satellites.

          Hi lingo74

When you say that you loose the tuner while watching you mean that the signal goes to "0" ? or you are watching a encrypted channel and freeze because of your line's quality?
If the signal is lost, that means a faulty tuner or lnb.
You can try a ready made channel list as Vhannibal settings and test it.

No decryption problem, good signal and quality before the message arrives. 'Could not find the tuner'.
And then every channel on that transponder is gone, with the same message showing up immediately if I switch to a channel on the same transponder.
Need to switch to a different transponder to get the faulty transponder to work again.

Sometimes I can watch up to 30min before the message shows up, other times it show up as soon as I try to watch a channel on that transponder.

Will try a ready made channel list, thanks.

Can a faulty Skew on the LNB make this kind of problem? Maybe is on a marginal V/H and a little wind on the dish makes me losing the tuner?

              Looks like a faulty tuner.
If you have a spare lnb try replacing it as a first trial, but I'm afraid it's the tuner.

try using the receiver with a different dish setup at your house or a friends house, if the same problem occurs you know its your dish else, all you can do is return the box if it had a warranty.

Maybe the DISEqC, if you have more than one satdish, perhaps a failure in your DISEqC device is making some frecuencies loss signal aleatory.
                    Maybe your LNB too.
Try other sat dish, try without DISEqC device, look your cable, connectors, etc...
                    Best regards.

Re: Problem with losing the tuner.

The last you can do is to try another lnb or you can test your friend's box in your sat dish setup or you can move your box in a friend's house.
You must be sure if the problem is on your sat dish (lnb or proper align) or your tuner is realy faulty.

extra info: while testing another lnb, box or on another place, best to test always on fta channels.

I hope anyway that you're loosing the tuning , not missing the tuner (a part of receiver)...
This is not only a joke, read what gianni said.

If the lnb is ok (do a test with another receiver) and another image doesn't help, sorry ,but in that case it sounds like a hardware failure.
