More channels on my DM500Hd?

Hi Mates!

I have a dreambox 500 hd, and I have a Skybox M3!

The dreambox is a better box, but the skybox is so worth the few money it costs! And here´s the strange thing, my Skybox finds several more channels than my Dreambox! Channels that is out of the normal range I guess.

Anyway, I have the same boxes to the same satelite dish! How do I also find the channels on my dreambox that my skybox finds???

you can find the latest settings as a ready file that can be load to your box.

I use Vhannibal settings.
You can find the latest here:

Go to the last page and download the file depends on what satellites you receive.
Then use Dreamboxedit that you can find here: -http://www.satlover.eu/forum/dreambox-tools/36124-latest-version-of-dreamboxedit.html
to trasfer these files to your box.

Hi Didde3000. A similar situation happens with many satellite tuners, when scanning is a lot of channels, but if you use a ready list of channels in the form of a file, the more channels and all of them working. I have both been many times. Why is it I don't know.

Hi Didde3000,
I've seen on different tuner, that sometimes Symbol Rate is difficult to find out expecially for low SR.
So I agree on import a new channel list on your Dm but check if channels not recognized have a low SR.

in the step of tuning signal noise lead to "jump" some frequencies. The use of pre-configured lists "force" tuning bringing visibility to many more channels and for this reason it is advisable to use lists already prepared and the result of a great job of constantly updated

The Skybox range of receivers including the F3,M3,F4,F5 all have been commented on about the tuner sensitivty as a lot of Feed hunters have started using these boxes now probably due to price alone very cheap compared to something like the 4:2:2 AZbox.

The Skybox M3 is probably the best of the bunch as it is equipped with the Sharp Tuner which was used in a lot of the Earlier technomate receivers and they where renowed for having Highly sensitive tuners.

Try to find a working tp on the m3 (best with fta channels) and try to get this also on the db -> check all tp details on with king of sats or lyngsat ; do you get signal? When a tp is eg on 11727, try with 11726 and/or 11728(works sometimes).
So make sure the tp is coorectly entered, an other solution can be to adjust your dish a little bit.

Make sure you have the latest "satellites.xml" file for your Dreambox. If it's an older version, you could be missing newer transponders.
It would also help if you can find out which channels dreambox can't find.

On my skybox, I can find the "digiturk channels" MMX premiere, stars 1 and 2, family and some other MMX channels that I have forgot.. But I can´t se thoose channels in the Vhannibal settings???

How do I load a new satellites.xml file? and which one can you recommend?

You can always do a manual search the following frequencies:

MMX PREMIER HD -- 10887.00 V 30000 5/6
MMX STARS HD -- 10887.00 H 30000 5/6
MMX FAMILY HD -- 10845.00 H 30000 5/6
MMX PREMIER 2 HD -- 10928.00 V 30000 5/6

also you can search these:

11534.00 V 30000 3/4
11596.00 H 30000 3/4
11637.00 H 30000 3/4
11679.00 H 30000 3/4

You can find satellites.xml file here:

Or you can generate your own file using this website, and you can choose the satellites you want:
-satellites-xml.eu

Then upload the file to /var/etc/.
You can take a backup of your original one just in case.
