DM500HD remote problems

Hello,

I'm having some problems with my remote.

The remote is showing that it is sending signal to the box, but I just don't see anything on my screen.

F.e. when I push the "volume +" key, I see the red light on the remote (sending signal).
But on the TV the volume is not increasing.

This problem is not continious. A few times it works when I push the volume + key. (or any other key) but after a while again nothing.

The batteries aren't low, because I've changed it for several times now and I just bought new ones.

Is this a known issue? Or does someone know how to solve it. I could buy a new remote ofcourse, but because of the "red light signal" on the remote, I'm affraid something is wrong on my box..

have you got a reset button on the back of the remote, if so give that a go, try changing batts as well

@spannersmanner (no it doesnt have a reset button on the back)..

did you install a plugin / addons? would be best if you have a remote you can borrow to test. It can also be a problem with your box (software)

daniel_D. Don't know any1 here in the neighbourhood with a DM500HD, but I'm not sure if I could use a remote from DM500S for example? or another model?

I have plugins/addons installed, but it always worked fine and i didnt update or change..

do u have another tv?can you try?i had a similar problem with 800pvr,the remote controll worked only after 10-15 min i started the tv.on others tv's dm remote worked well

i just discovered the weirdest thing ever..

when i turn my dreambox down (the back of the box up, front of box down), the remote works 95%..
when i change it back to the normal position (horizontally) it does the same as explained before..

maybe some1 knows why it doesnt work?

@gauloises1: i have a different tv now, because the other one is broken and is being repaired.. but how can the tv have influence on my box and the remote?

they probably use a frequency very near together

i had the same problem too with my DM800se and resolved it with a new remote control.
You can buy a new one test it and if it isn't good you can send it back.

im not really into these things but is it possible that the remote sensor on the dreambox is not aligned to the sensor window properly, it is possibly receiving a signal but not strong enough to operate the dreambox. just a thought

i just tested the TVmode on my remote and its working perfectly.. so the remote is sending out an signal..

gives me 2 options:
1) the tv is jamming my dreambox remote signal --> receiver
2) the dreambox remote sensor on the receiver is broken..

but as i said, it always worked fine, so probably it's number 1. some1 a solution for this?

no you can't change it. The frequency ist set by the manufacturer.

take my advice and buy a new remote control. It is easy and you can clarified it quickly.

and it don't necessary has to be a dreambox remote
but a cheap 1 you can configure to what you want it to do

it will still jam the remotes signal..

You are not sure that the remote and the tv are working on the same frequency. It is a supposition. It could be that you remote is broken.

I just tried to use my dreambox with an other tv (neighbours), result: it works fine again.

So my tv and the dream box are on the same frequency.. Is there a solution for this?

Only a better remote control could help . You can't change the frequency of you tv and your Dreambox. if you don't want to use a better remote control, then the last solution is to buy a new tv.
