Problem with setting up the gigabit network

Hi guys, does anybody know what could be a problem, I think I did everything right. Two PCs, two gigabit adapters (one pci, other pci-e), correct drivers installed and I configured IP addresses correctly but it run as 100 Mbit only.
My PC has this:

Other PC has this card:

They are connected with 20m of cat5e cable.

Do you have set the link speed on cards on "auto" ?

Try to force 1000 mbit, sometimes different hw can't correctly negotiate speed.

Yes it is set to auto negotiation. I tried forcing 1000 mbit on both cards together and one by one but that didn't help. It's even worse, sometimes network doesn't work at all (it looks disconnected) or it works even slower (led indicating 10 mbit).
I just bought this tp-link to replace my onboard atheros which was killed by lightning. But I can't return the card 'cause it's obviously working (100 mbit, it's not dead I mean). :(

I can't change it 'cause it runs through the whole house, several walls etc. but I tried another short one (200 cm), same story. I don't know what to do, I'm hopeless...
I'll have to carry the whole thing with both cards to some friend and try to connect with his PC.
Is there someone around here with extended knowledge about networks?

Then your new card is faulty, or the other card got partially damaged from lightning.
Get another card for a friend to identify the faulty one.
If the new card can't work at 1 gbit, i think you can return it because it doesn't comply the specification.

from pc to pc you need crossover cable:

I agree with @aplok

In order to connect directly 2 pc's you need a crossover cable.

You can also connect them by using a hub switch network or even your router as hub switch if it has more than one lan ports.

But it is crossover cable. If it isn't it wouldn't work even at 100 Mbit, right? Still, I just checked color pattern and it matches with picture posted by @aplok.
Also the motherboard is Asus P5QL-E, as I said I had atheros onboard lan (untill lightning struck) and it worked at 1000 Mbit connected with that other PC and the same cable.
I wasn't very happy with the speed, but it was 2-3 times faster at least (20-30 MB/s) and onboard LED indicated gigabit link.
Now I bought this tp link card and no way I can get it to work what it says on the package, I'm really frustrated...

The crossover cable isn't needed with the new card, because it has auto mdi/mdix (it can detect if it's a straight or crossover cable and adapt to use the correct cable twisted pairs)
As Gadjan says, otherwise it wouldn't work even at 100 Mbit.

even if working properly at 10 Mbs

does not fullfill the spec

so, the smiling vendor :D will be very happy to replace it

... don't forget that BASE-T cable length < 100 m ( to keep out from echoing ...)

That is not a problem, I said it earlier, length is only 20 m. Also cat5e can handle gigabit speeds, I'm positive. Today I checked the cable with voltage tester and 220 V from wall outlet :). All 8 wires are OK. I don't have any ideas left. I thought there is some catch with configutration/settings that's why I asked here. I would return the card or maybe bring them whole PC so they can try to fix it, but I live in rural area 100 km from the shop so I must be 100% sure it's the new tp link card. I'll see in a few days to try and pair both of my cards with my friend's PC and with differend cable. There isn't anything else left I can do now...
