    Re: Preinstall windows 7

The boot file is modified with special lines that will take the network at boot.(In the tutorial ,you specify it).
It's not the simpliest way to install windows ,but it works if you do it step by step :)

        Re: Preinstall windows 7

It's a good idea if you got the same hardware ,which I think it's your case.
The most important thing is to have a kernel running. After ,it's more like dealing with hardware issue (drivers) .
If you were installing a win98 it could be more difficult. With 7 and + ,it should be ok.. :)

probably too late now but how much memory has your phone got, you could copy windows onto it and use it as a usb drive

The best way to preinstall serious: install everything on a hard drive as if it were a standard installation, and then before you load any driver, make a clone with ghost or acronis, from there you could colcoar on any machine and finish installation.

Do you have installed any antivirus?
I have heard many problems with winxp and some antivirus that cause problems.

Also you can check your laptop for hidden spyware.
                They can slow your system.

Another idea is to run msconfig and check which services run.
If you find unwanted service , uncheck it and test your system.

Download the OEM version of windows from Microsoft or any other site. Install as a New installation and then activate it with the key you already have which can be found on the back of your laptop/desktop. Everything should be fine.

Maybe I'm getting confused now, but what spec is your laptop. If it already had Win7 before was it working ok at one point? If it worked slow before Win7 it will probably still work slow now... maybe you need more memory.

If you're worried about going slow and do not want to reinstall it, looking for a record mpiador li, defragmenting the hard disk, and removes all temporary files have to be kept accumulated, and see also the amount left on the hard drive possibly is full and not have enough space for the exchange of data.

if it is a laptop how much ram have you got, windows 7 struggles till you have a gig of ram, so if you have less than this it will always go slow.

could also be hard drive problems, a full format of the hard drive before installing would help or maybe a new hard drive

Unfortunately these days laptops hat come with windows have always loads of bloatware installed. Best thing after restoring from gold copy that should ome with laptop on either cd or hidden partition to remove all those add-on software to speed things up. Another option is to try and get OEM version but that is hard to get and activate using code from the sticker on the base of laptop.

Any bloatware is fairly easy to remove if that is a concern, use ccleaner or similar and then if you are a little braver use black vipers recomended windows setup.

I agree that a vanilla installation of windows is always to be recomended but it depends on the manufacturer and what the disks demand. For example I have a genuine Windows xp home disc from an old dell laptop, it will only ever loaded up on a dell as it searches the bios. I have another which also came with a dell, which was a desktop which will load up on anything and installs a vanilla xp except for an utterly blank folder called dell...

If you follow the advice given you will soon have your laptop working. I would advise research drivers before you ever start this sort of thing and also download any updates ie sp and slipstream them if you know how..
