Re: I have got a problem with my wifi connection.
It may be a wireless card driver problem if it works ok on a another o/s check your drivers are are up to date have you installed any new programs recently that may be conflicting with a something else
I think this is a good way for a solution test.
Another test is a command in dos window netstat -a to find a strange connection that You can find malware or spyware activity, in the all active sockets connections.

Ahhh Ok ... this is strange But ok :) ... good news.

Restore

Reset the old router to default settings it could be upnp settings or something else.

If that fails re-flash the firmware.
If there is a newer version of the firmware - install it - there may be bugs in the version you have.

Windows 7 works much better than XP did with Upnp.

I think it doen't have to do anything with the router.
It must be the drivers which doesn't work well with windows xp.
Did you look if they are compatible with windows xp or maybe there is a update out.
Try to reinstall the drivers and check for an update.
Had the same proble but with win 7.
I did update the drivers and the problem was solved.
Just try it.
If I helped you please press thanks button!

I have changed my old router by a new one. Perhaps, all the troubles were made by the drivers, but now on, with my new router, I have no problems.
I have used this router for many years with win xp and no problem, but last days the problems gone on more and more. So I decided change my router and solved problem.
Thanks anyway. Best regards.
