I have got a problem with my wifi connection.

Hi, last days I've got a problem with my wifi connection.
I connect with the router without any problem, I can surf all over the internet, but after 10, 15, 20 or 30 minutes then I continue connected ok, but I can access to the internet.
If I change to my second partition O.S. (Win 7) nothing extrange occurs, but in my XP O.S. partition have this problem.
If I change to another wifi net, the same problem. So I don't know if I have a virus working.
I have scanned with avast antivirus and nothing, and I have changed the dns settings manually and the problem go on.
WPA key is OK, there is no mac filter. I have reinstalled wifi receiver drivers.
I don't know what's going on with my wifi pc connection.
    Best regards.

Could you try to use static iP adresse and see if its better. If you are on static ip adresse then try DHCP.

I only can't surf all over the net, but if I click on the wifi icon at taskbar I can see I'm connected but I send packets and I don't receive any packet from the router.
        Best regards.
The message is something like that, "In this moment you can not access to this page, retry after a few seconds...."

Did you mean "but I can't access to the internet" ?

In any case, if you are still connected to your wifi router, you can try:
          - ping router
          - connect to webif of the router
          - check if you client is listed in the "connected clients" list

if all above is ok ...
          - ping w_w_w.google.com (to check id dns is resoving names)
          - tracert w_w_w.google.com

the best would be if you can make tests when everything is working fine and when it stops working.

          bye

When I have changed my dns settings I have changed to an static adress. I will try with DHCP, but I think there is a virus, trojan or something making his work.
Someone can recommend me an antispyware, or antitrojan?
            Any idea else?
            Thanks and best regards.

Re: I have got a problem with my wifi connection.

I was going to suggest what gianni253 posted but before changing
              antivirus read this article :__http://www.wired.com/science/discoveries/news/2004/06/63705?currentPage=all

This is their solution not elegant but if it works..

              • Go to Control Panel.
              • Choose Administrative Tools.
              • Select Services. A two-pane window comes up.
              • In the right-hand pane, scroll down and click Wireless Zero Configuration.
              • Click Stop the Service. A progress bar may come up briefly.
              • Click Start the Service. Again, a progress bar may come up.
              • Close the Services window. At this point, Fleishman said, the connection should come back.

                    hi findeciclo

Turning off the router for a whole night worked in the past for me - tried lots of other things without success before ...
Seems stupid, but got this tip from a friend who gave me a complete theoretical explanation, but finally my problems were solved.

Re: I have got a problem with my wifi connection.

What router are you using , what isp , what type and make is your wireless card / dongle?

If it works in another os partition its most certainly an XP issue.

Have you checked your event viewer for any errors?

I have seen this happen on a Dell D630 Laptop and it turned out to be a conflict with the integrated bluetooth services.

Are you using windows wireless zero config or the application that came with your wireless card?

Quick fix = reinstall the wireless card driver.

If you are looking to trap a virus or malware use Spyware Terminator its live shield is pretty good and best of all its free.

Check your registry run keys and the startup folder using msconfig.

Use malware bytes like the other poster said, also can you bypass your router to access the internet directly?

It may be a wireless card driver problem if it works ok on a another o/s check your drivers are are up to date have you installed any new programs recently that may be conflicting with a something else

Well thx to all of you.
I have changed the router and at the moment the problem is up.
I don't know if the other router was damaged or not, but new router let me surf all over internet without any problem.
I'm very gratefull to all my satlover's friends for the help given to me in this post.
                              Best regards.
