Re: router keeps rebooting
Two possibilities
a) Your box IP is conflicting with another IP. How many wireless and wired devices you have connected. Count the number of the devices and for example you have 5 devices including your phone and box. Assign a manual IP to your box like this: 192.168.001.006 which will be more than 5. It will solve the problem of disconnecting and rebooting of the router.
b) Second possibility is that you have updated the firmware on your router. If you haven't then it has updated itself. Check all the setting if it doesnt work then restore the router to an earlier firmware.

Re: router keeps rebooting
i have checked the firmware on the router its has not updated no other unit is connected at the same time as the spiderbox when it reboots all the setting are the same as before and they have been fine on these setting its only over the last few days the problem has happened so it looks like a factory reset is the only way outComment

You did not say if it got it's IP automatically or manual. IF not set manually I would still give this a go first.

Re: router keeps rebooting
That would be the last option but just for a try put the IP address manually into your box and lets see what happens. You have nothing to loose by giving it a try.If you like my post, please don't hesitate to click on "Thanks"button. Thank youComment

Re: router keeps rebooting
I have sometimes a similiar problem when a PS3 connects to a game server, it just throws the router and reboots. It must be something to do with the i.p i would agree with since it doesnt happen with anything else.Comment

Re: router keeps rebooting
I have done a factory reset and assigned a manual ip address for the spiderbox and so far so good no reset on router but i have noticed a drop in speed will let you know if this cures the problemComment

Re: router keeps rebooting
Just had another thought. Most of the time other wireless devices, low quality wirelss phones, microwaves and and video signal senders who are operating on a 2.4ghz frequency also interrupt the router signal and the router keeps disconnecting. Try to put your router away from your wireless phone. Also note the effect of the microwave on your router. If you like my post, please don't hesitate to click on "Thanks"button. Thank youComment

I must agree with you Microchick . Many people don't even consider the effect of devices you mention . Furthermore a neighbour may be using the same router radio channel , so it's wise if wireless connection is intermittent , to change wireless channel number .Comment

Re: router keeps rebooting
It looks like it solved the problem no reboots i have noticed that the lines connect very quickly as well were before they would take a few minutes to connect i also done a wifi scan to see what other wifi signals were there and found a strong signal on channel 11 so i have changed to channel 9Comment

Re: router keeps rebooting
hi
Have had (another - combination receiver/router) problem before, and after taken all from power for a complete night the problem was solved (disconnected all powercables and networkcables).
That makes perfect sense . Unless your provider assigns you a fixed IP , disconnecting the router for even 10-15 minutes will allow another IP be assigned to you freeing up all the unnecessary continuous pings .Comment
