    ****** Glasses, what you think?

    Souce: ___theverge.com/2012/6/27/3121288/google-glass-explorer-edition-announcement

Google has just revealed a new Google Glass Explorer Edition of its prototype camera-equipped glasses at I/O 2012. Pre-orders are open today, only for attendees of the I/O conference, and will cost $1,500 for a delivery early next year. As Sergrey Brin himself confesses, this is by no means intended to be a consumer product, but Google's keen to get the Project Glass hardware out into people's hands and onto their faces.

What do you think guys is google getting more control, will they get more information from the people with this Technology?
    or
would it be a great stuff if it comes to puplic? will this changes our life's? Better than Iphone?

Let me know what you guys think.

    Best Regards Locan

I think the same this glasses are Highly expensive but still there are many people who would like to have those, oh and i think i forgot to type that the glasses will be not available for the public. since it is in a very very early stage of development, the price on the top is just a price for some special developers who gets acces to that. So its not even set that it will come out to the Public.

But what i am thinking about is if this glasses goes to Public and becomes a mass Product the Price i think will be less than 200$. Also Facebook, twitter etc. will get a big advantage of that, But what i am worrying about is, what will they do for the privacy and security?
Because everybody who want's could follow you and knows where you are, what you doing and even what you are saying without permission.

But also the good things would be that it could make life much easier, for example, if you watch for a special place, with the augmented reality you find the place quicker than ever or if you want to talk to a friend you know where he is, call a taxi and meet him, searching for information would be also much quicker or it would be also possible to pay for things you buy in a store.

But lets see what the future will bring us :)

    hi

Personal opionion: not much interest for me ; perhaps for those who like cameras, photos or gadgets in general ; looks expensive to me.

On the other hand (not sure about english translation), but economics is all about 'question and demand', so if people are highly interested and willing to pay, it may be a success (disadvantage of mass consumption these days) ...

We'll find out the next years.

Expensive and of not much use. Can't really see the point in having them.
But then again that is what people said about mobile phones 25 years ago

I think it's too innovative an idea that brings a person to become addicted to the internet. The advantages are that any time we can get information on everything and everyone. The disadvantages are that it could cause damage to the brain because the antenna is positioned too close to the nerve cells.

I will wait until Chinese will make an unlicensed copy of these glasses and will buy them. Idea I like.

it looks as if most optimistic projection should be sometime in 2014, and the Google Glasses may cost anywhere between $200 and $500 i dont rally see the point plus at the moment they do not support either 3G or 4G, but WiFi access was possible at the I/O demo.

i think there will be 3g or 4g support since its still in the early development they can still put some more features in it.

I think it will be a failure. And then ... it is normal that Google cheats during the demo of the presentation?

You can already get cameras to put on your head for cyclist and extreme sports fans at the fraction of the cost.
Do people really need information right in front of there eyes when they are on the move doing something?
May look cool in scifi movies but not for me.

Looks very nice, but that's not so necessary in a daily basis.
Maybe in 10 or 20 years it will be a trend. Right now, not so much.

Can't see them catching on myself, although there will be a market for them i thjink they might be a little bit geeky. However having said that look at all the other innovative products out there that have caught on and sold like hotcakes.

There will always be people with money to burn who will want these.
Personally I have to wear glasses for reading and the idea of putting glasses on
for any other kind of entertainment I have no time for, hence I will not be buying a 3D TV any time soon.

I would think it would be another version. There were early versions like Glasses with fm radio. (1840), Glasses with music(1950) (joking) Glasses with MP3 players and night vision glasses. I dont think people are going to spend much on this gadget. One thing, they would be good for the reporters.

Its like all new Technology it will be crazy money at first then become cheaper. By the time it hits the general public they will look like a pair of sun glasses
