Wouldn't know if such tool excists as plugin/software but don't think so.
What I know is that some tv's have such integrated function, for example some samsung smart tv models. But that isn't what you are looking for. I suppose you mean plugin for your sat receiver?
    good luck

Never seen something like this ; generally I'm very critical about 3D - wasn't very impressed with all I've seen until now (some homes + cinema) ; so quality with a converter will even be less ; anyway: if it exists, google may be you friend ; of course feedback much appreciated if you decide to buy one.

Must say, I hope in the future my wrong will be proven, and 3D will have a future.

          Re: 2d to 3d converter?

i have a samsung smart tv with 3d but its not able to convert 2d to 3d.... but if im not completly wrong in the tvs with conversion there must do a software this job an this in realtime.
so a personal computer must do this job quite faster and with more quality i think.

surely the quality wont be the same as a original 3d filmed movie but would really like to know how that programs work....

found some shareware tools on google but did not even try one ....

lets see if someone else have experience with it or ill try it my own

          so happy posting, greets

I have a Panasonic 3D TV, which actually also have a 2D to 3D Converter. The £D Quality is really great and the depth of the picture is fantastic but if you are converting something from 2D to 3D then its not good because it doesnt convert it in SBS format.

              Hi mofu

i don't know if you had your answer but

when you meen to watch it on your laptop of dekstop
it can be done by stereoscopice player
it can play al most any thing

real sbs in to 3d or real 3d

              so check it out stereoscopice
              sud do the thing

If anything doesn't convert from 2D to 3D in a SBS format then its just waste of time. 3D is only great in SBS. otherwise the picture is just blurred, which is back to normal with 3D glasses showing you very little 3D details.

Yes, it's a waist of time. Resulting media is only suitable for eyes breaking. Not a second of real pleasure. But in educational purposes...

If you need to watch regular 2d content in pseudo 3d you may download stereoscopic player _http://www.3dtv.at/Downloads/Index_en.aspx. Using this player you can open any kind of stereopair or even 2d video, select your favorite watching method (NVidia, red-cyan anaglyph e t c) and enjoy 3d show.

If you want to MAKE 3d content of 2d, then
                  - the only way to make content of a suitable quality is avisynth + x264. I'd advice to use MeGUI as a GUI.
                  - you have to decide what you mean as 3d content? anaglyph? stereopair?
                  - making a stereopair from 2d is something very wierd and I never heard about it; you are likely saying about some kind of anaglyph, red-cyan anaglyph (eyeglasses fitted with some 3d dvds); there are some avisynth scripts for converting 2d/3d content to anaglyph, for example _http://3dvision-blog.com/1220-2d-to-3d-realtime-video-conversion-script-for-avisynth-v0-3/; I haven't use it myself, but it's not the only one.
But you need to know avisynth for it.

Look for 3D movie player this will convert any 2D source to 3D on the fly on your computer, it will do Shutter 3D as well as the old fashioned Red/Green etc.. 3D

                      Re: 2d to 3d converter?

The trouble would be if a video is not made using 3D cameras then it would not be possible to use any software to convert the videos to a proper 3D. It would be a partly 3D and I would prefer to watch a 2D, instead of some inproper 3D content to punish my eyes.

Did you watch the converted video on a 3D tv using 3D glasses. The blurred picture gets ok once you start watching it with a 3D tv using 3D glasses but not much difference in 2D and 3D using some converters, so why not watch it in just a proper 2D High Definition.
