strange, also have no explanation ; what if you (by right click) change the default program of video and music (to eg vlc or another one): does this opens the program playing both files? And afterwards change again to WMP?

Did you check all the options in WMP (eg in 'player')?

a good point( i love vlc to) but his problem still here :)

ambak i suggest you to try following that might ix the problem for you, but to do it you have to delete registry keys. Do it on your own risk :D

First open regedit (run-->regedit) and brows to--> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > MediaPlayer. Delete the entire registry key folder.

Then go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Media Player and HKEY_USERS USER > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Media Player and do the same thing here.

When you finish deleting go ahead and reboot your PC. When it starts up it should ask you that the wmp is not installed or you might just get the first use wizard. Try it and see if it helps :)

and to say to this you can backup regedit under files when regedit are open
