That's correct. We had the same situation in germany 12 years ago and called it mariage of cam and card. The cam gives the card a special serial-key (when a new card is put in the receiver the first time) which is safed in the card and then the card every time checks if it's connected with that special cam. If not - no response from the card.

such an exchange event is probably very costly financially and customers will be unhappy with, a small selection of receivers

i dont think the cost so much when you order thousand receiver at once, as for the customers they just dont have a choice.

yes they estimate that new subscriptions will exceed these operating costs on medium term basis

If they do this e.g. in germany they surely will loose hundred thousands of subscibers. The customers have a choise, they can and will cancel subsription.

                  hi guys

I know, old thread, but didn't want to start a new one, so here it goes.

Being a bit creative with sats, most weeks I was able to watch 'my teams', now for this evening I have a small problem: my game's apparently on Action 24, but this channel doesn't open (think still on Hotbird 12169H - sid 373) - any suggestions to help me out (honoustly, not much hope, but who knows ...)^

thanks in advance and have a great Sunday!

                      hi rizwan

I don't know if I've ever watched this channel, I think not - a few times I checked it never opened afaik (some months ago).

Runmo, not just rumors, it’s reality.
Actually there are “premium-ip servers” growing up who offer ip-streams espeacially for those stations, which do not work with cs anymore. And of course for other programms as well.
They use h264 streaming codec with sd-resolution to have only low data traffic.

Well if you find free streams for nova bouquet you can mention them on forum. Same for other good streams as we have iptv section, ts media plugin could maybe come with solution in future. Topic of free or premium iptv servers can be discussed on forum as long no publicity is made for premium iptv servers by mentioning their websites (same rule as for other premium cs servers). And who knows maybe satlover will start iptv server in future....
Anyway let's keep it here to topic nova with cs.
