GPRS is very SLOW. Also, free servers usually get overloaded and also your user and pass is used by another person.

That's why you are freezing always.

What you need to do, to know if sharing is possible:
        Initiate your gprs connection.
        Ping your server.
Make a "traceroute" command to see the latency and various internet nodes.
If it take more than a second and less than 2 to reach server then every protocol appart NDS should work. If more than 2 seconds then a lot of freezes.
If less than 500ms then everything should work.

          hello dears,

im using gprs on zong which is slow.since last many months to see some asian indian apckages. and it works perfect for me.like sundth, doshtv. IS7/10 sports channels.i tried once for HB and it works for that too.Im using Sony erricson PCMCIA card for GSM mobiles and just insert in my laptop and connect and it works.

Due to my expereince if you use a cell phone it has many other overheads involve when connecting through GPRS so better use sony erricson or any other band PCMCIA or USB GSM modem. ****** it and you can find usbz for desktops and pcmicia for laptop ....hope it helps.thnx

              1. You may use GPRS for cardsharing traffic, you don't need thick channel, for traffic's not big, you just need stable connection, otherwise freezes will occur

              2. Equipment

you may use huawei wifi modem e5832, if you have Android SmartPhone, you can raise software access point on it - in these cases you will need wifi adapter for your dreambox like this _http://img.alibaba.com/photo/321921432/2011_dreambox_WIFI_bridge_VAP11G.jpg, set up wifi network and go on

you may use usb cellular modem from your cellular provider and access point with usb like DLink DIR320 _http://www.dlink.ru/up/prod/DIR-320.jpg. In this case you can use UTP network cable to connect dir320 with your dreambox or use that dreambox wifi adapter, set up network and go on.

I use huawei e220 and Dlink dir-320 for cardsharing needs myself

You will firstly have to make a connection from your phone to your laptop via GPRS so the phone will act as the modem/internet connection. Then you will connect an ethernet from your laptop to your box and share the connection(but to do this you have to edit the settings of the connection once you have set it up).

If you are looking for something cheap, then I recommend that you activate "tethering" on your phone.
There are many ways to do that, depending on your mobile.
For example if you use an Iphone you can use an application called "Pdanet".
Pdanet will allow you to transform your iphone in a wifii access point.
Then you will have to do the standard network setup.

Re: cardsharing over GPRS. Is it possible?

I think network speed is not important but there are several other parameters that can affect the success of using GPRS for card sharing:
                    - network Latency (high in GPRS)
                    - key change frequency (depends on the encryption algorithm used by the provider)
                    - CCCAM server response time
                    - network packet loss rate or BER (this is important in IP based wireless networks like GPRS)

It's theoretically possible but very risky IMHO. I would think about either WiFi or 3G or maybe WiMAX if I were you.

Thanx for your replies. Very interesting! I think I found the cheapest combination:
Android phone with tethering and DM800. Since DM800 has many RTxx drivers built in, I can use any simple, cheap USB wireless dongle.
Android phones are best for tethering. I need to get one for testing. I have Nokia symbian but unfortunately I haven't seen any option there for wifi tethering. Maybe some third party software.

I say it works via gprs not worse then via 3g. I use 3g modem as I wrote before myself. When it catch 3g carrier it flashes the blue light. When it's unable to catch 3g network, it switches to GPRS carrier and flashes green light.

When modem light becomes green the computer seems like disconnected from Inet. But TV plays pretty good with no freezes. But I have to say I checked it not with satlover cccam, but with some Russian sharing providers - cbilling.net and zargacum.net. They works with newcamd, not cccam, but it don't make no difference.

If you experience some difficulties with cardsharing via GPRS, it's not a crime of GPRS.

Can you let us know about the results of your tethering with DM800 ?
Are you sharing on UDP or TCP ?

Android phone in tethering mode + cheap Wlan adapter (Rt73) are doing good job.
Indeed, it is not stable and I do get glitches sometimes, but it's the wireless adapter problem (when working in dreambox) and not the problem of tethering. I tried to connect dm800 to router via wireless and I got same glitches.
This might be good as emergency solution in some cases but not for constant watching. And specially not for N*S cards!
