    Re: Secure CS

It would be much better if the premium servers provided their own openvpn certs for their customers. I would if it was me ;-)

Private people, well, it's not too hard if you use the right routers. dd-wrt, smoothwall, ipcop etc.
The only downside is that the vpn tunnels add lag to the packets.

    :-D

The law is obviously different from country to country, but to my understanding it is illeagal to distribute tv channels, and not to watch them. So I think the subcribers do not have to worry only those who make money out of it. Also diffrent rules apply to pub owners because there are other law-s involved when public screening is the case.

        Re: Secure CS

I thought that using a personal VPN channel in your own router only give added security to oneself when accessing ones own server remotely. I didn't think it gave any extra security for remote servers. Am I wrong?

You are right. They are a bit difficult to be traced from outside but not impossible. It doesn't mean that anyone behind such network is completely safe.

AFAIK a vpn is 100% safe, on both sides.
No one can understand what's going on inside the tunnel because traffic is encrypted using strong cyphers such as AES 3DES etc...

              hi

sorry, but I still believe (and am pretty sure with the info I got) that (theoretically) it's possible to trace vpn by the authorities (if they should get permission to do so). Safe ok, but surely not 100%

                Hi mate,
I agree with you that it is possible to trace a vpn, i.e. someone from outside can say "it's a vpn tunnel" or "you are using a vpn", but it's a completely different matter to decrypt traffic.
No one can discover what is inside the tunnel.
