Suggestion re Vu+ Duo

Apologies if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it.

I was wondering whether it would be possible to have a dedicated section for the Vu+ Duo in the Receivers Section?

VU+ isn't popular yet than dreambox but i think that receiver will have a priveate section because some people starts to deal with it and some groups start to support it

I'm planning of purchasing a vu+ duo myself.
A friend of mine has one, I saw it play. It's a great receiver with lot of options. There are also different images made by teams like open pli en dreambox elite.
The performance is as good as dreambox and it's half price compared to the dreambox 8000
Some already call the vu+ duo the dreamboxkiller.

So a subforum for the vu+ duo is indead a great idea and would be very usefull.

@Runmo - I don't think you will be disappointed if (when!) you get one.

It's my first linux receiver - just upgraded fom a Humax 5400 that I bought back in 2000 - so I can't really compare it with a dreambox.

All the reviews I read were really positive, so I hope I've made as good a choice as I did when I bought the 5400.

I believe its priced about the same as DM800 but the spec is more like the DM8000 (which is double the price).

Disappoiinted that Dream Elite have gone, as that is the image I'm running, but like you say, OpenPLi, VTI and others have already developed images for it.

Yes it's priced like the dreambox 800 original, but certanly more functions.

I didn't knew dreamelite stopped for the vu+ duo.
Anyway this is a good firmware for the vu+ do : firmware Gigant
It's like a combination of open pli, vti and dreamelite

I know it's supports cccam, mgcamd as I saw it play with this image at a friends place.
I'm sure you can find eaven more info on the net about this image.

Myself I'm still hesitaging budget wice with the edision argus mini hd 2 in 1 ip combo. Myself I don't need many functions,
I only want to look to high def in good quality and be able to use cccam. This as second box next to my dreambox 7020. Pitty enough there's no way to open hd with it.

you still have AZBOX as a choice
as i know it can handle HD and CCCam as dreambox and no need more addons the image configuration like DM does

Dream Elite has stopped, not just for Vu+Duo. Their forum has gone completely now, but before it went this was posted on the homepage:

Thanks for the info on Gigant - I will definitely give that a try next.

There is also a new image by the new VIX team which looks good. I think I'll wait for the first update to come out before trying, as it is still very new.

Thank you for the info Sonc and if you find the time, please keep me informed please about the images you will try as for example from VIX team.
You never know that dreamelite will come back in the futur.
