Astra 3B not showing

Hi guys I seem to be having a problem finding astra 3b,it does not show on my display nor can I tune it in.Aim using the blackhole image.does anyone know how I can add the sat to the display.I connected my old spider box up to my motor and it found it straight away?

Have you tried updating your satellites.xml go to h**p://satellites-xml.eu/ and generate any satellites that you want then save it in your var/etc folder and then try rescanning.

Although I am not familiar with Astra 3B

firstly you need to download an up to date satellites.xml. either you go to the website which rikksow mentioned above or you can download one here:

once you have downloaded your file you need to transfer the file to the box (etc/tuxbox). you can use filezilla or any other ftp programm to do this. restart your image and see if it works.


i am not sure if the location is etc/tuxbox. please check this one first. you can use filezilla here as well.

Or you could just download a channel list such as vhannibal, c@jton, etc and transfer it with dreamboxedit.

On my DM500s it is stored in var/etc folder. Not sure with vu box but suspect may be similar.

I had a look on the satellites.xml website and i don't see Astra 3b where is it at in the sky?

astra 3B is located at 23.5°e

i have two boxes (running with enigma 2) and on both the satellites.xml file is located at etc/tuxbox
