Yes mate, exactly that. Dreamdroid works on android as well.
I have it on my android tablet.
You can also use the open web interface to stream from vu+

Not sure about openbox, best ask someone the has one.
Daroon player is good for streaming content via dreamdroid.
No official vision of vlc player yet for android.

You can use with another network but you need a very good upload speed with your broadband.
It works with vu+. Not sure about openbox

Vu+ Player for Android
It was developed with and for Vu+ users in mind but it should work with any receiver compatibile with Enigma2.

Another working ap is androidDreamer, works for enigma 1 and 2 images, very stable with vu+ receivers. Easy to set up and use to.
But you need to install webinterface.ipk on your receiver (if not standard installed), won't work openweb

Just need openwebif installed if you're using dreamdroid. Most images have it pre installed, so it should be there already.
Also forward the appropriate ports in your router.
if you have a solo2 you need the transcoding configured as well.
But if you have a vu+, give vu+ player a try. It is a great app and so easy to use.

Or webinterface addon if problems with openwebif. As openwebif is preinstalled in latest images as bokkie mentions, webinterface isn't anymore. I had to install it as openwebif bugged for me.

I have now tested Vu+ player for dreambox on my galaxy tabled 2, and i most say.. dame boy... this is so far the best application for its purpose. What makes this application so good is the interface that make every thing more clear for users. I have tested most of the function and they are working just like they are supposed to do so. So thank for the owner for this powerfull yet easy application.

what are the differences between the two addon?
