VU+ UNO vs VU+ DUO

I am intending to buy a VU+ HD receiver. Does anyone knows a easy to understand difference between them and which of them should be better to buy?

When is the VU+ ultimo gonna be available for sale?

The UNO is the new current model with faster CPU and more Ram and also supports pluggable interchangeable tuner, The DUO is last years model with twin tuners and slower CPU.

If your buying now and cannot wait for the Ultimo what ever price that may be then might i suggest you also look at the Clarke-Tech ET9000 same spec as the UNO with faster CPU and more ram than the UNO and Duo but also supports twin tuners and is the same price as the Duo available now.

Just to add do not get confused with the ET9100 which is £30 dearer here in the UK it is exactly the same as the ET9000 no difference what so ever.

Thanks for your replay m8. I just decided to buy the VU+ UNO as I was to impatient to wait for the Ultimo. I flashed it with the PLi image but I found it very onstable, so I flashed it with the Black Hole 6.5 just to relise that you have to install the cccam your selfe and build an IPK file. After one day of investigation I managed to get it fully working and one of the most intersting things apart of the youtube player plug in is that once you activate parental control all porne channels are locked. That is excelent for me as I do have kids at home. So in my point of view BH is the image to be used with VU receivers at the moment and highly recomend those receivers.

The Uno Tuner is superb. If you know the Rev M DM tuner then all I will say the one in the Uno is every bit as good if not better.

If you only need one tuner, like me, then the Uno is unbeatable value for money BUT it is early days with regard to what images are available for it at the moment. Blackhole has always been a favorite, even on DM, but there are still issues with it.

I bought the Uno in the hope that I could have STB & Mediaplay functionality all in one box and while the Uno is mostly up to the job there are still some minor issues to be ironed out. I am therefore still switching between my STB and my O!Play for now.

The ET9200 is more expensive than the Uno and not as well supported. It's uglier too but that is a matter of personal taste. It too uses Enigma images so in my case suffers the same in the Mediaplay area but both are getting there.

Other to consider is the DM800SE but again it's price is far too high even though it is the best supported of all of them.

i have both. The UNO is better for tuner and performance it is very quick and response is better. the DUO is better only for the 2 tuners. I used only BH images that are very stable.

I prefer the Uno over the Duo, and if you need 2 tuners you can use a dvb T/C/S usbstick on the Uno.

Please can someone tell me if this is correct...

On the vu+duo ypu can record one channel and watch another, but on the vu+uno you have to watch that channel that you are recording?

Need to know for sure to know which one to buy. Thanks.

No that is not correct as the Uno can now be upgraded to a dual tuner with the Plug & Play twin tuner card, or you can buy an Uno with twin tuner in for the same price as the Duo

Both!!- Drsayus vu+duo as dual tuner and you can update the vu+uno to a dual tuner.

Vu+ uno would be the better buy of the 2 as it's a slightly faster cpu.
But for a little bit more you could get the solo2, which is also a twin tuner.
But its' a lot faster than the uno and the duo.
