I got one and I am very, very pleased with it. I've bought two DVB-S tuners and one DVB-T tuner. Tried different images, but I really like OpenPli. Works great. I put a SSD in it so I can record stuff. I'm glad a paid some more for a Vu+.

I did own one for a few months but found the Tuners in the Ultimo to be very disappointing for fringe/weak reception i also found it had problems with higher TP value on some satellites as in the picture would break up even though it had a very good signal.

This little problem hopefully should have been fixed in the last few days with the release of the new drivers which are currently in the BH 1.7.6 image and the latest Vix download.

I am being really tempted to get an ultimo, the have really dropped in price recently.
Think it makes more sense to wait for the duo2 to come out though and see what they'll be priced at.

Okay I have to admit that the drivers for the tuners could be better. When I compare the reception values of the Ultimo with a connected Rebox to the same dish, the Rebox scores much better values.

And the Duo2 has HbbTV support. Don't know how far the channels in the UK are with supporting HbbTV?

Last Update for the Tuner cards for the Uno and Ultimo was in October and is the 4.5 FPGA upgrade

I have one and do not complain over DM500. I'm not sure whether waiting for duo2 would make a difference as in another 6 months time there will be another maybe duo3 etc. There will be always something better for 'better' price. You should ask yourself what you need and meet your current expectation rather than future possibilities.

the box is like a DM8000. only faster!! after flashing an image same config wizard as on Dreambox. most plugins (ipk) for drambox are working! like tspanel and so on ... For those who have this box, use the vti image and check out the blue panel. Bernys DCC Enigma2 is also working good. As i wrote above it is like a Dreambox
